trouble hearing the ceremony on a beach???

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I've tried searching but haven't been able to really find anything--sorry if this is a repeat thread! I'm not even sure if this is the right place, so moderators please move it to wherever you think it would get more hits!!

Something I'm really worried about is that with the wind/waves, people won't be able to hear our vows--and the video won't pick it all up

My cousin got married @ Lake Superior in Duluth, and none of the guests could hear any of the ceremony (they weren't mic'd, though).

Those who have already had their DW or those who have been to DWs in the past--is this a problemhuh.gif

Thanks!!

Sarah

I'm also a little worried about this. I saw a video of a wedding at Las Caletas and I could not hear what they were saying on it. This is why we are not paying for a videographer - we're just going to have my uncle sit in the front row, aisle seat and record it with his HD video camera. Not expecting much though. Guess that's just one of the few drawbacks to having a beach wedding!

We had a mic and speakers, so all our guests were able to hear the actual ceremony. The problem was the wind, our day was super windy. Our cousin videotaped the ceremony for us and because of the wind, much of the ceremony is not heard b/c he wasn't standing near the speaker. Aparently there is a cover you can get for video cameras mics so that the wind isn't an issue - I'm sure any professional videographer would be aware of this particular concern.

No one had any problems hearing us at all.

As far as the video, DH was wired with a mic so all of the sound was picked up on our video. You should definitely check with your photographer/videographer to make sure that they will wire you or DH.

From what I've seen posted here, most resorts will provide you with a mic set up but it may come at an extra cost.

  • 2 weeks later...

The only dilemna during my ceremony was the pool activities/music was happening same time as the ceremony. The WC said she asked them to turn it down, but she can't control it if they don't. So there was alot of screaming from the games going on -which was a bit frustrating. So the advice is to schedule your ceremony prior to or after the games. (I would have schedule 1/2 hr earlier, had I known.)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
