Past/ future TTD brides...

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to start a thread that opened up the discussion about TTD sessions...

How many past TTD brides actually used their wedding gown for TTD

What are the thoughts on having 2 seperate dresses, one for the wedding day and another for the TTD session... ?? is it ok to have a short TTD dress if your wedding gown was long?

any general thoughts on the process and whether or not actually trashing ur wedding gown was done??

I will be using my own dress..I was hesitant at first because I want to be able to wear my dress again at our AHR but from everyone I've heard from the dress does not get stained or ruined at all! Actually, from most TTD'ers I've heard that their dresses actually end up cleaner after the TTD then they did before!lol. A good rinse from the shower afterwards, hang to dry, then have it dry cleaned when you get home and it will be as good as new :)

I'm having two dresses, only out of necessity. I really want to use my gown, but it's going to be a mermaid fit and that just won't give me the kind of "floaty dress" pics I want for my TTD. Plus, if I want the freedom to scale up and down FH and be all hot and sexy, I can't see myself shimmying my damn dress up my hips every time I wanna raise my leg.

I've never seen anyone here say that their dress was actually "trashed" UNLESS it was like a jungle shoot and there were stains set in that just can't be taken out or it got ripped some how. For water and beach TTD's I think the dresses usually come out fine. I think part of what makes TTD photos so striking is the fact that theres a moment of "Hey, thats a bridal gown!". So I definitely want to use a wedding gown even if I can't use THE wedding gown.

Great question - I was kind of wondering the same thing. I know I'll never wear my dress again after this and don't have anyone to hand it down to...but just in case my niece or a friend wants to wear it, it's good to know it can get cleaned up.

I was hesitant at first about using my dress but decided to go for it. I did a lot of reading and searching the internet in general and the forum. Since I found that with the water/ocean pictures about all I read was that the dress seems to come out cleaner I figured if I was doing a TTD I'd much rather use my actual wedding dress because I love my dress so much and want that in my pictures! Now I'm really excited for it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
