I just wanted to start a thread that opened up the discussion about TTD sessions...

How many past TTD brides actually used their wedding gown for TTD

What are the thoughts on having 2 seperate dresses, one for the wedding day and another for the TTD session... ?? is it ok to have a short TTD dress if your wedding gown was long?

any general thoughts on the process and whether or not actually trashing ur wedding gown was done??

I used my dress ! It actually was a good thing (for my dress type) since it cleaned it all at the same time of making amazing pictures!

I will only be doing a TTD if my good photographer friend attends. I think I will use a cheapie white dress with a similar silouette to my real dress for the TTD if I do it.

I used my original dress. And I didnt mind cuz I got crap on the front from leaning in the bars. After the wedding. So it actually cleaned it a little.

I will be using my own dress..I was hesitant at first because I want to be able to wear my dress again at our AHR but from everyone I've heard from the dress does not get stained or ruined at all! Actually, from most TTD'ers I've heard that their dresses actually end up cleaner after the TTD then they did before!lol. A good rinse from the shower afterwards, hang to dry, then have it dry cleaned when you get home and it will be as good as new :)

I purchased another dress for about $50 just in case I decide not to wear my wedding dress. I cannot wait to do my TTD.

I'm having two dresses, only out of necessity. I really want to use my gown, but it's going to be a mermaid fit and that just won't give me the kind of "floaty dress" pics I want for my TTD. Plus, if I want the freedom to scale up and down FH and be all hot and sexy, I can't see myself shimmying my damn dress up my hips every time I wanna raise my leg.

I've never seen anyone here say that their dress was actually "trashed" UNLESS it was like a jungle shoot and there were stains set in that just can't be taken out or it got ripped some how. For water and beach TTD's I think the dresses usually come out fine. I think part of what makes TTD photos so striking is the fact that theres a moment of "Hey, thats a bridal gown!". So I definitely want to use a wedding gown even if I can't use THE wedding gown.

Great question - I was kind of wondering the same thing. I know I'll never wear my dress again after this and don't have anyone to hand it down to...but just in case my niece or a friend wants to wear it, it's good to know it can get cleaned up.

I was hesitant at first about using my dress but decided to go for it. I did a lot of reading and searching the internet in general and the forum. Since I found that with the water/ocean pictures about all I read was that the dress seems to come out cleaner I figured if I was doing a TTD I'd much rather use my actual wedding dress because I love my dress so much and want that in my pictures! Now I'm really excited for it!

i didnt know that the dresses come out cleaner in the end... what about dresses that are lace?? if thats the case.. i might as well use my own dress!!! i just dont want to ruin it especially after spending some good hard earned money on it!!
