We just booked our wedding at Sun Palace Resort on April 28, 2012.  I would love to hear how wedding planning is going for other Sun Palace brides! :)

I've seen two or three postings with photos from other weddings--if anyone has more, I'm dying to see them!

Thanks!

Hello! I am trying to plan a wedding in Mexico! I have stayed at Cancun Palace (now hard rock Cancun) and have visited beach palace and moon palace. I am contemplating where to have my wedding because I love the beaches at Cancun, the blue water, but love the gazebo at moon. Any advice for where I may be able to get both? Also, any recommendations for photographers? I would love to see sample pictures! Lastly, did you have a symbolic or civil ceremony? I am very concerned with having to have my blood drawn in another country. When you have a civil ceremony, is it performed only in spanish? Sorry for all the questions, but I look forward to all responses :-)

Hi Carley!! Welcome and congrats!!

I was married at Sun Palace on 11.23.12.  I wanted the beautiful beaches and water that is why I choose Sun Palace- that and the fact that there are not too many weddings at Sun and I wanted my wedding to be the only one that day and it was!! We actually stayed at Moon Palace with our guests and had the wedding at Sun.  I had to pay for private transportation to and from but it was well worth it.  I don't know if they allow this often, but I was able to get it done.

We acutally flew down a photographer and assistant from home and had her photograph for 3 days- it actually ended up being cheaper as I used my comp'ed nights from my group benefits from 75+ nights than hiring a photographer in Mexico for 6 or 8 hours on the wedding day.

I had a symbolic ceremony- I too was scared to have my blood drawn and I didn't want to pay all that extra money to have everything translated.  We got married at home about a month after our wedding in Mexico.

Feel free to PM me any other questions and I will send you a link to my wedding photos at Sun Palace!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
