Oh I have one to share:

I went to my usual hot yoga class, I ended up staying after to do a clinic, so I was running about an hour late, I called FI from the car to tell him and he as like that is fine (abnormally clam). I arrived home about 5 min later and he has set the table 9it was a new home gift from my father and this would be the first time we ate at it. None of this was unusual as he normally does all the cooking and is a very talented chef. The only thing that was not normal was the candlelight but I did not notice at the time.

So I plop down at the table, soaking wet sweaty yoga clothes and start inhaling my salad with out saying a word. he sits also we eat, then he asks if i want dessert and I was like " oh no, i am so tired and full and after the glass of wine I just want to go to bed "

So he starts clearing the dishes and then spins around and asks again if I want dessert ?? he then dropped to one knee and popped the question.

it was the best day!!!

My hubby to be proposed on Easter! OMG I love what he did so much that it brings tears to my eyes and i cant seem to type the right letters on the screen! lol. Ok say I have a daughter and he has a son, we are a blended family and we wouldnt have it any other way. Boy is 4 Girl is 2. It was easter morning and I was in the bathroom trying to get my hair done before church, I had spent all morning getting the kids dressed and my hubby to be's outfit picked out as well. ("should i wear this shirt honey?"... "yes love it looks nice". lol) it was my turn to get ready and I hear boy call me out, I need your help can you come here please.. so I walk out of the bathroom with a straight Iron in my hand and not quit put together yet.. as i round the corner there is my love on one knee with girl and boy beside him. boy is holding the ring, girl has sweetest smile on her face. Boy says mommy (my name here) willl you .. girl chimes in mommy put on your ring! love finishes by saying, my love will you marry US. Before i could say anything because i was so cought off guard my daughter takes the ring and starts to shove it on any finger she could get, mommy put on your ring put on your pretty ring. I look at him (love) in amazement. The kids are just going crazy. I get a chance to look at me ring and its amazing and wonderful. Our children and our family has alway been important to me and he did something amazing with how i feel. My ring not only has an amazing cushion cut diamond in it (my fav diamond shape) it has all of our birth stones in it as well on either side of the cushion cut diamond. Im so happy to have such a wonderful man to know how much family means to me and how great it is that we are one. Love him! Oh and as for the shock factor it was. I was so cought off guard, he says i didnt look excited at all just shocked kinda frozen. lol. I told him im so sorry I was so happy just didnt have processing time! haha. poor guy.

my FI & i were set to go to punta cana for a week but he got a new job and was asked to start immediately. he called me home from running errands and made up some excuse that he needed me to sign some papers at the bank. i was confused, and kind of cranky cuz i was out shopping...but i came home anyways. when i got there he wasn't there or so i thought. then he came sliding across the living room floor (kinda like tom cruise in 'risky business'..haha) and asked me to marry him. i thought he was joking until i saw the ring then i started crying. then when i realized this was really happening i laughed and said this is it...right here in the middle of the day, in our messy apartment is how this is happening. we laughed. i found out afterwards he was planning on proposing in the dominincan which was shocking too. i wasn't planning on it happening til the summer. so now i'm trying to make wedding plans and everyone keeps asking me why i don't know. well it's because i wasn't even expecting to be engaged yet...haha!

Well, mine isn't quite as romantic, but it DID take place in the living room. We pretty much already knew we were getting married, since we have a son together. We had just had a baby in August, and bought a house the previous May, so a ring was not in the cards at the time. I was trying to drop hints as to what I liked whenever we would be walking around at the mall together or something. I just happened to see the EXACT ring I wanted and mentioned it to him. A few days later I was back at the mall for more shopping and noticed it was gone. Needless to say I was devastated that my dream ring was no longer an option. Keep in mind, this was in early October. Fast forward to late November...We decide that on black friday we are going to hit up the malls and see if there are any incredible deals at the jewelry stores. Thanksgiving dinner comes and goes, and I settle down on the couch next to him after putting our son to bed. I'm lying with my head in his lap almost asleep, when he says to me "I don't think we should look for a ring tomorrow." I damn near wanted to cry. But before I could, he said "it would make this one jealous." I open my eyes, and there is THE ring sitting there on my chest. The sneak went and bought it the day I told him about it, and held on to it for 2 months!

  • 3 weeks later...

My FI had been gone all night and all day for an out of town job, when he got home around 10pm, I was laying on the couch waiting for him. He sat down on the couch right in front of me and kissed me and then said "is it okay if I call you my Fiance!"

When we first started dating, he was sitting on the couch in front of me and kissed and the said "is it okay if I call you my Girlfriend!"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
