Not Having TTD Pics Done?

Recommended Posts

Hi PrincessScorpion, I think it really is a personal choice thing. Some people really like the artistic nature of TTD, and they see it as fun photos they would like to have for years to come. It's not for everyone though, and many brides choose not to do TTD, or to do a more "tame" TTD, with just some cutesy in town photos or something. It really IMO is more about the artisitc photos you get rather than actually trashing the dress, which is why many also buy a cheaper second dress or just a plain cheap white dress.

Nope, not the only one! I wasn't interested in it in the least. I love looking at the photos and think they are among my favorite to view, but I knew it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience for me. Plus I blew my budget on my dress by spending about triple on it, so there was no way I was going to "trash" it! (Even though I've heard that it's often cleaner after the TTD.) So it's totally a personal decision and I can admit that it's not one that I'm upset about skipping.

I agree with Krista. When I first found this forum and started reading about this new concept, I couldn't understand why anybody would want to "trash a dress". But after seeing the pictures the girls posted, I realized it's not really about destroying a dress, it's about the magazine-quality pictures you get from a TTD session. Some of them are so unbelievably sexy, romantic, interesting, and fun! In the end I was totally won over and had one too. We had a great time doing it, the pictures are fun, and my dress didn't get ruined. If I had to do it over, I would do it again (except I would choose a better photographer as mine was not so great).

The closest I'm coming to TTD will be the photos taken immediately after the cermony. We are definately getting some pictures with our toes in the water and walking hand in hand down the beach and a few in the garden with the palms.. but I will not be swimming/climbing trees/etc in my dress :)

i really really want to do a TTD in a cenote, but i'm still trying to talk my fiance into the idea. i don't think we'd ever really DO much with the pics, but it's just something creative, more artistic and less traditional.

not really into the BD shots thing, but that's just a personal preference.

if you're thinking you might want to do it, i'd say go ahead and do it - especially the TTD in your destination!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
