Stupid moments for Friday

Okay... I confess that once upon a time I locked my keys in the car... While the engine was running. Yup. Brainiac here. It was an older model Honda, and when you wanted to lock the doors, you had to hold open the inside handle to flip the lever - it was actually designed so that people didn't inadvertenly lock themselves out of the car.

Anyway, long story short: I was putting a letter in the mailbox, got out of the car (engine running), and had gotten so used to getting out, opening the handle locking the door and, etc., that I did it as I got out to put the letter in the box. Fortunately, a friend had a spare key and was able to get it to me in about 30 minutes. But yeah... soooooo dumb.

Oh, Becks, that reminds me of something similar I did.

A few years ago, my car was in the shop for some reason or another and I had a rental. You know how rental go, crap cars with nothing automated. The only car that I ever got in and out of on a regular basis that wasn't automated was my co-workers, and she was anal about always locking the doors. So I got in the habit all the time of locking doors, even if it wasn't a manual car.

Anyway, I had this rental to the train station and I always park, then walk up and put my 4 quarters in the payment slot, then go back and sit in my car until the train comes. So I did that that morning, but had locked myself out! Just like, Rebecca, my car was running as well. I had to call my mom, who catches the same train a few stops before me, to see if she could look up AAA number for me, then I had to wait HOURS for them to show up while I sat in my moms car and waited for them! She was nice enough to drive down to my train station and get on the train there, so I could wait in her warm car and not be stuck outside freezing my ass off.

Even better was that I had locked my cell phone in my car as well, so I had to go up to a random person on the platform and tell them what I did and ask to use their phone. Lovely.

I was driving to my new job, second week there, got a flat tire going around a curve, got out of my car to check the tire and locked my keys in the car with it running...my cell phone was also in my car so I had to wait for some good samaritan to pull over. I live in Jersey so people just drove by looking at me for a good half hour before a cop finally saw me. By that time I was crying hysterically...

I have an '04 Civic & I ALWAYS flick the lock button while holding the handle. They have a safety on mine though that will not allow you to lock if the keys are in the ignition! Thank God!!

I have however put my keys on the passenger seat, got out of my car & locked the door behind me. It was one of those moments where I realized what I had done just as the door was shutting...it was like the slo-mo you see on TV.... nnnnnnnooooooooo!! LOL

This story is not about me...it's about my cousin...but it's really funny. I'm not a great story teller but I will try my best! Here goes...
There were a few of us sitting around playing board games, but cousin was sitting next to a friend of mine - him on the couch, her on the floor. They know each other, but are not close friends. She's leaning on his leg with her arm up over it and then starts holding his hand...meanwhile, her husband is sitting across the room!!! We all started busting out laughing...it was completely innocent...just out of habit with her hubby!!! Hmmmm...maybe it's not as funny if you weren't there! But we all still laugh about it!

Hahaha! I did something similar to a co-worker! Except I leaned in for a kiss out of habit! That was awkward....especially because I was leaving for my wedding that day!

i don't think i've ever done this, but every few months i will put my cereal bowl back in the fridge and leave the milk sitting out on the counter.

one stupid thing i ALWAYS do is when i get tickets or snacks at the movie and the cashier says "enjoy the movie" i can't help but say "thanks! you too!" in return. like those poor people at the theater need a reminder that i'm going to go see a movie and they have to stand there and keep working! (i believe this also applies to ticket agents at the airport!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
