Does anyone have the balance ball chair for their office? A co-worker just bought one for herself and loves it. I am really tempted to get one myself, but wanted to see if there were other opinions. My hips hurt like almost daily and I slouch like crazy, I know it would help slouching and was hoping it would help my hips too. Any thoughts?

Hey Carly.
My friend has the Chair and enjoys it. I just sit on the ball at my desk, I do have to have a conciouse effort to hold my core tight while sitting on it and keep my feet flat.
When I get lazy i prop it against my heels and slouch over with out realizing it sometimes. But ultimately I like having it to switch on and off between my regular work chair.

Oh, so you use just a regular ball, not the ball-chair? Hmmm, hadn't really considered that option. People steal stuff at my work allt he time (ghetto-ass mo fo's!), so a ball itself might be too easy for someone to walk away with, but a chair? Who's going to lug that away.
Did you notice any difference in your body? I know it helps posture and the core, but will I look any different? Just wondering if I splurge will I see results or only feel them?
Right now I am thinking that I need to buy the chair! But I am showing some restraint to think about it.

Ha ha, well the ball could be nice if you want to test it out. I just got an excersize ball at walmart for like 9 bucks I think.
Then if you like it you can do the whole chair thing for full time.
It def helped to increase my core strength in my yoga postures. So I am sure it increased the muscle tone, I just have to much flub to see it. LOL.

Darn, that would be my issue as well. Seeing the muscle thru the layers of fat. Gross.
Anyway, cool, i didn't know they wre the cheap! I think I will buy a ball and test it out. The chair was like $80, so $9 is a steal to see if I can do it.

I have one (the chair) and I looove it! My posture has been so much better since getting it. I was getting pretty bad back pain everyday from sluching before. This forces me to sit straight. It's great...kind of expensive though. Mine was $125.00

I didnt know they made chairs, gonna check out amazon after...
My physio got me into using the fit ball for my chronic back prob. She said just sitting on the ball will help develop my core muscles to strengthen and support my back. The pain also moves into my hips and I have felt an improvement since starting my ball exercises. Some of the exercises are just sitting on it so im pretty sure that with prolonged use as a chair it will make a difference, not sure if its a difference you will see rather than just feel.
Maybe you could get the ball for now and use it for some extra exercises in your lunch break, im assuming you couldn't do this with the chair!

I didn't kow they made these, but I think it's a worthwhile investment. I am never in the office - wish they made something that would work in the car....
