My dream of being barefoot.. shattered.

Recommended Posts

Yamille,

I'm going barefoot also. My dress does drag a bit due to the embroidery work on the bottom, we couldn't hem it any shorter. I decided to just deal with it and go barefoot anyway. Have you ever tried to walk in the sand in wedges? It's not exactly easy!!

ok. now I am rethinking it all. Maybe I will buy the wedge flip flops to have just in case. Ok for my second fitting I will walk around barefoot and see what happens.

I also can't believe that we are paying over $200 in alterations and it's not even being hemmed. wtf?

Yamille, I totally agree with Carly. I had my reception shoes on for my alterations & wanted to go barefoot for the ceremony on the beach. I just let her do the alterations with the shoes anyway.
While I wound up wearing fairly low wedge flip flops for the ceremony, I so wish I would've just gone barefoot. I felt so clumbsy walking in the sand with those wedge flip flops. And the wedge wasn't even that high.

So if you really want to be barefoot, just go for it. Like you said, see how it is when you go for your next fitting. I just don't think it'll be a problem at all.
Also, if you do opt for the wedge flip flops on the day of your wedding, make sure you practice walking in the sand with them at least the day before so you know what to expect!

And please, don't remind me about the price of alterations! Its just crazy! shots.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
