Crazy Crazy Crazy Bridesmaid!!!

Recommended Posts

I completely feel for you - We just got back from Cuba with some friends of ours and it was the first trip for one of the girls - she drove me insane with all of her questions and planning and I didn't even have all the wedding stuff to worry about on that trip :)

I would make sure that gets to know some of the other guests really well so that she feels comfortable bombarding them with questions instead of just you. And make sure you keep a sense of humor when dealing with her - you obviously consider her a really good friend if you made her a bridesmaid and when you look back at your wedding you are going to want to remember all the good memories with her not the parts where she drove you insane :)

LOL..sorry, I just read this and she's cracking me up...but then, I'm not the one who has to deal with her ass. I DO have one of these in my wedding party, but she's driving me nuts with planning shit FOR THE WEDDING. As if I asked. She has volunteered to do everyone's makeup..like they are gonna be cool with letting some unlicensed stranger do their face. I just keep it honest and light with her. I appreciate her enthusiasm, but that shit gets on your nerves when you've got other things to be thinking of that are actually IMPORTANT.

Sounds to me like she is more focused on the "vacation for her" aspect than the WEDDING FOR YOU part. I'd remind her. Something simple like, "Hey, since it's our wedding theres gonna be a lot of stuff that I have to tend to since I'm the one responsible for having all these people go so far out of their way. I'm cool with you planning whatever because it's your vacation too, so as long as you show up for the wedding, go crazy and have fun. But you'll have to leave me out of the planning for that because I can't promise anything til we're there."

She is going with her husband. This is their big vacation for them this year and it is nowhere she has been before. So HE has HIS hands full! He just roll shis eyes at her all the time. Kinda funny. The couple is also good friends with a group of friends that we have going, so there shouldnt be a problem, except she drives our friends crazy too!

Weekend Update:

So some other friends had a BBQ this weekend and she came to the BBQ. She had gone to Walmart earlier in the day and dropped $200 for the trip....jeez...this is what she bought:

Because she read about it on Trip Advisor:

2-3 pillows since the resort ones are hard. She will leave these behind.

2 beach towels because they have cute stuff on 'em, and the ones we have for the OOT bags are plain....

2 bath towels since she thinks they won't give her enough

4 washcloths since they do not give them out (according to TA)

4 sull sized shampoos and conditioners

Gosh there was also something funny....Oh yeah, she bought a TON of snack foods so that she doesnt have to buy them in the gift shop (things like Pringles).

Again this is an AI. You are bound to find snacks. You really need to spend $60 on snacks to pack? I think this girl may be bringing more luggage than me ;-)

Oh and she had the nearve to make fun of me for the 6 bathing suits that I own and am bringing with me. (a)3 of them are old (b)I am spending 2 weeks in the carribean between the wedding and the cruise honeymoon!!

Oh she bought me some water shoes (kinda nice!!!) from Walmart. But then she proceeded to tell me how hers are WAY better than mine and she spent $50 on them from overstock and how I should have gone this route but I am out of time.

So that was my weekend with her :) I still love her though!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
