How did you come up with your wedding date

We picked our date for 2 reasons:

1. It's over Thanksgiving break, so we figured our guests would have thurs & friday off, and wouldnt have to take additional time off work if they didnt want to.

2. It also just so happened to be 2.5 years to the day we met, which was May 28, 07.

Our date is 26th March 2010. It will be 10 years to the day that we first met. We met working on cruise ships so we also chose our DW in Mexico based on the memories we have of spending time together there when we were first getting to know one another....

Our date is very special to us, even though practically speaking what with easter, spring break and peak season it would be financially better for us if we had met a little later in the year. LOL

Orginally, we wanted to pick our annivesary.. but then I remebered we dont know when we "officialy" began dating.. (always use the entire month of Jan. to celebrate). We got engaged Sept. 11 08 and didnt want to use that date, so since FI birthday is in March, and mines is in October.. we chose a date that falls half way between both of our birthdays June 26.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
