I'm reading "Stolen Innocence" by Elissa Wall and I love it. I started it on Sunday and I'm almost done. It's about the polygomous sect, FLDS as explained by an ex-member. I feel really ignorant while reading it as I was not very educated on the religion. So if you're into true stories or autobiographies, I recommend it.

Ok. I finally have a moment to recommend similar books.

Escape by Carolyn Jessop -amazing book about a woman who grew up in the FLDS. Was married at 18 to a fifty plus man. She has 8 children and escapes the sect.

Lost Boy by Brent Jeffs
- Another good one. He is related to Warren Jeff's the prophet of the FLDS who is now in prison thanks to the girl in the book you already read. He was actually molested by Warren Jeff's and brought his own lawsuit.

Favorite Wife: Escape from Polygamy by Susan Ray Schmidt
- She is the 6th wife of a man when she is only 15. This is a different polygamist cult though. The LeBaron's which is a crazy story. The brother murders his own brother and others and has a hit list which is still out today and has people murdering for him.

Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer - Kindof different. Not based soley on polygamy. Stories of how violence erupts from the LDS and other sects.

Leaving the Saints by Martha Beck - Not polygamist at all. This story is of a Mormon girl (LDS NOT FLDS) who leaves the church. This one struck a chord with me b/c I grew up LDS until I was 19 and it all was so familiar. How the church is very hard to leave and very cult like. It is a long process and does a lot of damage so this book was very eye opening.

Those are my favorite. I'm reading another one right now written by the sister wife of the author Susan Ray Schmidt. When I finish I'll let you know how it is. Enjoy. And if you have an questions feel free to ask.

Well I got through book 7 of the Sookie Stackhouse series, and decided to take a short break before finishing up with books 8 & 9.

I started reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater... it's amazing so far! I'm about halfway through it after only a day (& I worked today!). It's written for teens, so it reminds me a bit of Twilight... but so far I would recommend it. It's going to be a series with the 2nd book coming out this July.

Aimee, Shiver has been on my to-read list for a while now...glad you love it!

If anyone here likes Twilight-ish books, I thought the Immortals series by Allyson Noel are an easy, lazy read and entertaining. Nothing ground-breaking but entertaining fluff. Three books in the series are out so far: Evermore, Blue Moon, and Shadowland.

Thanks Kathy! I just added them to my "to read" list on goodreads. :)

On another note, Sarah Addison Allen's new book is coming out on March 16, and the new Flavia de Luce book by Alan Bradley is coming out on March 9. Hooray!

I am about to order the Sookie Stackhouse series from Amazon today. I am also going to check out that goodreads.com! :) Thanks Ladies.

I just finished reading "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer...It started off really weird. I was a little worried at first..haha..But it turned out pretty good. Nothing compared to Twilight, but I can see her doing a sequel and it being even better :)

I read that too. It does take a little while to get into and I had to read it again to understand it completely. but it was pretty good.

    • I’m getting married next May at the Azul Sensatori  in Cancun, I believe they have a hotel specific DJ. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on that versus spending money for an outside vendor and if so any recommendations on a good DJ in that area? Thanks for the help.
    • I admire brave brides. I'm generally afraid of a wedding. Breaking outdated rules is cool. You're good😇
    • My wedding date is set for the next April. The ceremony will be held on the beach too. I chose a dress style but not sure about the accessories like a crown and the need for a warm cape. The open back wedding dresses https://www.cathytelle.com/category/wedding-dresses/?filter_back=open&query_type_back=or  help me to choose, please! I like the third dress just with the location on the beach, like I'm dreaming about. In case of bad weather, I need to pick up a cape, so where can I find it? Only a new thing will fit, cause my grany is very superstitious (( I will be grateful for the web-addresses of jewelry shop with good reputation
    • Hello, I'm looking to have feedback about decorations for your wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace. We are getting married in Dec 2020, and I tried to get info from WC for what it's included as decoration for mint breeze or Straberry Package. It seems to be normal to pay extra for everything, but before to go further, i would like to now what basically come included?? I'm looking to know what is included for table decorations (center, if it's looking the same on when you go at a restaurant a la carte, table sheet white or colored), huppa for beach wedding (white or color), deco for chair, etc? Did you had to pay an extra to bring your own decorations? Did you pay an extra to have your reception in a beach restaurant? And what about a beach reception? Are the lights are included ?your help will be really appreciated!    Thank you
    • If you use the search function for those locations you may better be able to find something. What exactly are you looking for? Recs on photographers?
