Groom's Attire - will this look ok?

Recommended Posts

My niece called me last night very excited that they finally got her FI's suit. It is going to be a white linen (Cubavera) suit. Her gown is white, but dip dyed in fushia and the girls' dresses are dip dyed orange and fuschia. (She had a designer friend make them). Her FI found a light blue shirt that he wants to wear with his suit and she wanted to know if I thought it would match, or should he go with orange. I kinda feel sorry for the guy, as he's so easy going, and if he really wants to wear a blue shirt, well... but she sent me a picture and it's kinda a greyish blue and I really don't think it will go at all. She wants him to wear an orange tie, and orange boutiniere. The guys will probably wear white pants with orange shirts. He told her - he would match the ocean with his blue shirt...

What do you all think? I'm leaning towards telling her to go with the orange shirt or else white shirt, but I'd like to see the guy get something he wants!!

Hi,

From a photographer's perspective, I wouldn't go with the orange shirt, or the white shirt, with a white linen suit. I think the blue shirt would be best.

I don't think the Orange Tie will go, either.

Orange is such a strong color, it makes a great accent, but is too much, (IMHO) for a big piece. It's OK for the groomsmen to have Orange shirts, because they aren't the center of attention.

Let's see some photos to be sure!

I personally say the blue would clash as well as the orange. I am 100% for the all white linen suit and white shirt. My DH wore all white, as did I and the pics were stunning. His bout had color and it all came out lovely. You can check my pics and review to judge for yourself.

We just got the same suit for my FI, but we are going with a Aqua color linen shirt. And the Best Man and my dad are wearing the same shirt with true linen not white linen like the FI. My girls dresses are fushia. The girls flower will be Orange with a touch of pink and wrapped in Aqua and the best man and my dad bouts will be Orange and the FI will be Orange and Pink. So I think it will go fine as long as its not a light light blue.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
