DJ in Riviera Maya

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Has anyone used or will be using a DJ in the future that's located in Riviera Maya? We're having our wedding at Barcelo Maya next January. Is it worth it? Would only an Ipod and speakers be ok? We are both huge music fans and find it rather important to have LOTS of it at our wedding! If anyone hired a DJ...who, cost, time frame, own music, etc? Any information youu guys have would be fantastic!

Thanks so much!!!

Sandra

You should defintely take advantage of past threads that have discussed DJs in the area as they are full of lots of info, including prices. Also best to just contact/email these DJs directly as their prices may differ depending on your needs:

Here are some, and if you use the forum's handy dandy search option you will find tons of others in the Riviera Maya vendors section:

We used Mannia and he was fantastic - and very reasonable. do a search - I know that one of the threads had his prices for last year in them. It will at least be a starting point with regard to pricing, etc.

Thanks for all the info ladies! I contacted Mannia and we were quoted $630 (taxes included) for 4 hours (this is with the 30% off). Sounds pretty reasonable to me! They want a $200 deposit wired to them from our bank to theirs. Has anyone done this? It's a little uncomfortable. I would rather send a certified check or use paypal. I dunno, something "safer". But being that they're well known, I guess it'd be ok. Should I worry?

We wired money - no problems. just make sure to keep a copy of the wire instructions that your bank gives you. We had a bit of a problem tracking it down, but it was easily fixed.

Also, before you commit to anything check with your hotel. some of them have weird policies about outside vendors.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
