I felt the same way when I read your first post.smile03.gif

A word of advice, don't pick to many to try on. Think back on the first time and try to remember all the things you liked about certain dresses and then stare at that website between now and your appointment and find 6-8 that fit all your likes. When I went the first time I was convinced I would hate strapless and I ended up loving strapless, I also decided that surprisingly, as a "bigger" girl, I felt better in the stuff that was fitted and kind of "sucked it in" cause my first dress was flowy and I felt it made me look bigger. But trust me, you will know, and as others said its not all tears and stuff, sometimes its just a glow or a smile that won't go away that says it all.

But after I took it off and decided to get cups sewn in (To whatever dress I get)...My Back looked much better, so Ladies, remeber that is an option. Don't let the Bra thingy make your back look worse!! :-)
aww i'm so glad your mom understands and wants to go with you again. and definitely look at all the dresses on the website and pick ones you must try on.

as for back fat ... even tho i didn't buy my dress from david's, i did buy that bra because it was the most comfortable for the support i wanted. unfortunately, i don't think my back fat is just the bra LOL even tho i'd love to blame it on the bra, hahahaha! maybe i should still try the dress without it? i'm old and saggy LOL i need support! i don't know about just having sewn-in cups ... honestly tho right now it looks like i have boobs on my back too, cleavage and all. yuck!

Well, I did call Davids and the girl was (Surprising) very nice and helpful. She said I can exchange it for something of equal or greater value and if the new dress costs less, I will have to make it up in accessories. All of that was exactly what I wanted to hear!!
I called both of my MOH's....And they are both very supportive and offered to go back with me. I haven't told my mom yet. I don't think she will be mad or anything, I just feel bad because I know I drov her crazy the first time..LOL I know I am short on time, but I don't think I am gonna go this week because I have a visit from Our favorite Aunt and eww , who wants to try a White dress on with her aroundhuh.gif?

Lisa, I feel the same way you did, getting caught up in everyone's tears and "Oh thats the one's"..And I was also rushing. I'm not super girly and I like to make my decision and move on..But I have envisioned my wedding since I was a kid and Although I realize this isn't a traditional wedding..I wanted something a little bigger...I described it to my sister just now, when she asked what I wanted, i said, "Somethin I have to lift up to walk around..LOL"
My dress is beautiful and light and it will be perfect for Mexico..But who cares if I don't love ithuh.gifhuh.gif

So...If I feel better by Wednesday, I may make an appointment for Thursday night :-) If not, I won't go until Tuesday of next week and who knows, I may decide to keep my dress, although I doubt it.

I need to just try some other dresses.

Thanks for all of the advice and stories! :-)
Here is the dress I currently have:

Oh my gosh! I also tried on that same dress and everyone with me LOVED it and thought it was "the one" but honestly, I just didn't feel like me in in, and it wasn't what I was imagining, so I ended up with something else, which I am really happy with (and it was half the price!). It's a beautiful dress, but like you said, I just didn't love it on me.

Good luck to you on your new dress search!

Yeah, I like the sucked in at the waist poof out in the skirt dresses, because in comparison to all that poof, my waist looks super tiny.

I don't like back fat, but what I really hate is armpit fat. I know that even some supermodels have it, but I think it's gross, and I wish that I could get armpit lipo!

Ladies!!!! I got a new Dress!! (Mods can you put an update in the title of this thread?)

I fell in love.

Here is a true story...My Sister got Married in2002.

When we went with her to pick out her dress..A girl came out of the dressing room with this Princess dress..It was strapless and sparkly up top and the rest of the dress was all tool.

I told my mom and sister that when I got married, THAT was my dress! I even said I was going to buy it now because I wouldn't change my mind.

When it came time for me to try on dresses, I thought a dress like that one would look silly on me...But girls..It was the ONE!! I tried on about 8 - 10 dresses and I did like a majority of them..However..there was no doubt this was it.

AND i even got a Veil and jewlrey tonight too!!!

Here is the dress and a Veil..It's not the veil I bought though....I am so happy!!

Thanks for all of your support!!! :-)

And one without the Veil....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
