Oh No :-( I don't think I love my Dress anymore.....UPDATED with NEW DRESS! #36

Recommended Posts

Oh ladies, I am having a panic attack over here!! Help!! :-)

You were all right, I should have tried more on, but I didn't listen.

I did like it, and I was comfy in it..But my mind is on so many things these days, I don't know what I want anymore, I just know I want things done!!

But I went with a more DW dress and it's beautiful, but I want a little more of a Traditional dress...I really do. And I want a veil.

My Dress has come in...They had to order it in my size. It does need to be altered, since I lost weight, however..I haven't gotten it altered. I have it in my house, still in the Wedding bag cover or whatever it's called and all I want is to take it back and try on other dresses :-(

When i tried it on...I was like Eh...It's pretty but, where's the Poof I always wantedhuh.gif?

I feel bad to tell my mom, since she paid for it..I feel bad to ask anyone to come with me back to the dreadful Davids bridal to see if they will let me exchange it for another dress, but I know I want to.

I'm not even sure if they will let me exchange it. I'm going to call them tonight.

And then I'm calling my sister and my mom to see if they think I am nuts!!

UGHHHH I feel like such an idiot.

Do you know when I realized this wasn't "The One"??

When I was walking by a sotre the other day and I saw my Flower Girl Dress in the window and the minute I looked at it, I said..That's it..It's the one. and I bought it!!! I was so excited and I kept joking saying, I didn't even feel that way when I saw my dress.......

But it's true.

I dunno...What should I do? Is it too late? I'm getting married in June!!!

my confession: i'm not sure i ever *loved* my dress. it's very beautiful but it's all three of the things i absolutely positively "didn't want": satin, strapless, and low in the back. i still feel a little like i got talked into it by all the tearful "that's the one!"s i got from everyone else. now i'm going to sweat to death and all my back fat is going to be hanging out, lol. it is traditional and pretty, and i had to admit i felt like a *bride* in it (when i tried the more flowy, beachy things i felt like i was in a nightgown, lol).

at this point it would probably be hard or impossible for you to squeeze in a second dress (if they won't let you exchange it), wouldn't it? if so, that sucks. have we seen a pic of it? maybe you could still add a veil or more traditional bridely jewelry or shoes to make it feel more special to you? can you add a crinoline to make it poof a little? add a detachable train?

Which dress did you choose? I don't think that David's allows exchanges or returns, although you can probably re-sell it online since it is brand new w. tags still on.. I like my dress.. a lot.. but I am not in love with it, but like you, my mom bought it for me and it is a lot of the things I wanted. So, I know I will like it and not sure if any dress would ever be perfect, so just staying positive and moving forward with the dress I have. But.. if you really feel like you don't want that dress anymore, you should follow your heart and you can always sell your old one..

Honestly don't worry take a deep breath and look at it again lol

I got mine ages ago and loved it, then I was made to order the next size up and if i'm honest I purposely ate shite so it didn't fit and I HATED it lol

Now I tried it on again with my m8 and her 6 year old who is brutal lol and they both said its lovely. It was actually my friend who grabbed it pulled it tight into my waist and said see it is lush its just too big.

So trying pinning it back so it fits and its probably going to be different

Yes keep in mind that DB says they won't exchange or return, although there have been MANY instances where they have so it doesn't hurt to ask but you have to do it now and probably pay extra for the dress to be rushed.

You can sell online but its ALOT harder than it sounds! Many of us have been trying to sell our 1st dresses online for a while! Mine is also brand new w/ tags, no alterations, etc and I'm still trying to sell it.

Your wedding is SO close. Although I have been there girl!!!! The second time around I did it myself and didn't bring anyone along. You don't want to slip into your dress on THE day and wish you had a different one! But if you want another you should jump on it RIGHT NOW!

its never too late.keep calm so that you can think.you need to take it back if poss.call them and explain but surely if it has not been altered then they should take it back?

harty t is right try it on again when you in the right frame of mind.don,t make any rash decisions.think why did you but it?if it was for practical reasons only take it back.you need to feel great on your day and not worry bout your dress.

keep breathing it can be sorted lol

I haven't read any responses yet, but have you called David's? I have heard of lots of girls that they allowed to exchange their dresses. I would definitely check that out.

Another thing you can do is get a veil! If you want one, get one! You can even buy the tulle from a craft store and make your own for like $10. Mine was handmade (although I paid $25 to have my seamstress make it for me, cuz I ran out of time). Once I put a veil one, my dress felt SO much more like a WEDDING dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
