I just decided to use the cake that comes with my wedding package, but my mom and I thought up some really cool things to add to it. My mom is very creative (owns a quilt shop...) and she figured out how make those rhinestone initial/monograms that people put on top of the cakes. They usually sell for over $50, but she just went and bought wire and crystal beads and made it herself. We are also buying some fancy beaded ribbon and putting that around the base of each tier of the cake. Also using the same ribbon for napkin rings. These things are easy to bring in our suitcase too and Rebeca said she would put everything out as long as I gave it to her the day before. just thought I would share some creative ideas.....

The one I posted is the only one I have so far. I'm sure I'll get more once we get our professional pictures back (which is ANY day now!! :) so I'll try to post more. On a side note, Edna - I noticed you're from Monterrey. My sister lives there and she said the schools are closed for now. Any new developments? I hope everyone is staying flu free down there!

Your cake looks amazing and yumy... I am still craving for cake LOL and you are right I live in Monterrey, we don't have any confirmed flu cases yet but the number of people with sympthoms is increasing sad.gif Schools are closed since Monday until May 6th and I was hearing on the news 5 min ago that authorities are planning to send everybody home and work from there too, but I haven't received a confirmation from my company yet, they are trying to reduce the risk at max.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
