Seating arrangements- What are YOU doing?

Hi ladies

Just wondering what everyone is doing for seating arrangements. Are you having a head table where the bridal party sits or are you just having a table for the two of you and everyone sits together? Maybe you're doing something totally different? Let me know. My mind changes every day!

We're having a "sweetheart table" for bride & groom. Then, we're having 10 other tables of mixed....bridal party not all at the same table. We grouped everyone with people they know.

We are also doing a bride and groom only table, because we probably wont have a bridal party. Everyone else will seat where they please...

We had 24 guests total - so 3 tables of 8 each. Everyone (except Bride & Groom) got a random "Dinner Seat No." on their ceremony program thing. Our only rule was that no one could sit next to their significant other because we wanted to mix it up.

 

Our guests really loved it because they got to sit next to people they wouldnt normally talk to. For example, my mom got to sit next to and fell in love with DH's best friend from college (not romantic love - they're both married) and now they are friends on facebook Plus this way, 6 "lucky" people got to sit with the bride and groom at dinner and we didnt have to pick favorites

 

So our place settings had one spot for "Bride" and one for "Groom" and the rest were #s 3-24. It worked really well for our group!

I'm having a sweetheart table. I think that's the most romantic.

is anyone else not doing assigned seating at all, or one big table for everyone?

 

it will be mostly family members with us and not more than 20 people so i was thinking it would make the most sense just to let people sit wherever (since everyone knows each other already) and have one less thing to try to organize!

i was originally planning on one long table, but now we're up to 33 people, so we're having a sweetheart table and several round tables. we are letting our wedding party sit with their dates rather than all together. oh and we're putting the 4 kids at their own kids' table ... time will tell whether that's a brilliant or absolutely awful idea, lol.

When we were having a sit-down meal (now it's more of a cocktail party with lots of apps instead), we weren't doing seating arrangements. We were going to let our guests decide where to sit. My brother did this at his wedding and it worked very well. Plus we assume that our guests will have a few days to get to know each other in Cabo before the wedding day so hopefully everyone will know everyone by then anyway!

I like the idea of a big square or a big U (3 or 4 long tables arranged) so all the guests can essentially face each other. If possible, I'd like to have the dance floor in the middle of it! I wasn't going to stress myself out with a seating arrangement since it wouldn't be separated tables. Just have to make sure DF's divorced parents aren't sitting next to each other or directly across from each other!

I don't think we are going to do assigned seating. So far it's 30 people and I kinda want everyone at one table, makes it easier for us! But if any more people come I guess we have to do round tables.
