I can't sleep advice

Recommended Posts

So I can't sleep restful now that my weddding is so close. I literally wake up every night at around 4:00am and I just can't fall back asleep. I'm seeing undereye circles and this is causing me more stress. Any recommendations to sleep better. I'd rather not takes meds, but how about teas or creams?

One of the best ways that I find to sleep like a baby is to take 2 benadryl before bed (about 8pm to sleep by 10 10:30). I know that medicine is not the best way for the long term but it certainly hels me in a pinch. The pharmicist said it is ok to do all of allergy season, so I cant imagine it is too bad .

Good Luck girl! I know it is so frustrating to have difficulting sleeping.

Do you have a lot of caffeine during the day? If so, I'd say cut back until the wedding on any soda, coffee, chocolate etc. I know that when I stopped drinking soda I slept much better. Otherwise, try keeping a notepad and pen next to your bed. Your head is probably full of ideas and thoughts about the wedding and if you write them down you might be able to sleep without worrying.

Melatonin. It's what your body produces naturally to sleep, as you get older your body slowly produces less of it. You can buy it at your local drug store in different mgs. I would buy like the 3 mg, take it the first night, if it makes you to droggy, cut it in half, if it's not enough, take 2 the 2nd night.

The FI swears by them. Personally me, I take a prescription sedative. I have big sleep issues due to working nights. I hate having to take pills but if not I'm up literally EVERY hour.

Best of luck for my fellow May bride!!

Tea: Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime. Its one of their most popular for a reason!

I also try to read for 20 minutes before lights-out. It gets your head in a book (and off the wedding) and helps weigh your eye lids down.

I was the same way - couldnt sleep and had breakouts right before the wedding! That was gone as soon as it was over :) Hope those help and you get some rest!

I remember being too excited to sleep!! That is so exciting that your wedding is so soon! I agree, no caffiene in the afternoon, also try not to exercise at night either. Maybe some Yoga before bed though might work. Good Luck! (And for those under-eye circles, Bare Minerals work great for covering)

I second Melatonin....my DH will only let me take this. He takes it too. You can even buy it at walmart in the vitamin aisle. My DH has been taking it for a while when he can't sleep. It really does work. And it's natural not a drug!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
