Iso: Mattress recommendations

Hi Ladies,

I am in the market for a new mattress. I am pissed that I purchased our current one from Macy's and their product was GARBAGE. Cost does not equal quality that is for sure as it was $3k for both pieces. We had a warranty and they found a loophole to get out of paying my claim so we are SOL.

Can you ladies please send your recommendations for a good mattress and the manufacturer info? I would like to stay within the $1500 range this time and need a reputable mattress manufacturer. We were even thinking of looking into Raymour & Flanigan ( an east coast furniture store chain) .Thanks much for your help.

We got a new mattress in November and I'm obsessed with it. It's a Sealy, and it's incredible! Like Stephanie, it's the perfect mix between firm and soft. It totally is like sleeping on a cloud and every night when I go to sleep I think about how happy I am that we got a new mattress! We got an amazing deal on it but it would have been worth it even if we had to pay double!

We just invested in a Simmons Beautyrest. I say invested because I have very bad back problems and was barely sleeping on our old bed anymore. When we first started searching for a bed I was convinced I wanted a Sleep Number or comparable bed. At one location we were looking at who carried a bed in same quality to the Sleep Number as well as other beds, the salesman asked what we were interested in and also things like sleep quality, if there are any back problems, etc. When I told him I have a bad back (degenerated disc included) he pointed us straight to the Simmons, which FI's mom had also recommended and said she wants to get when her and DH gets a new bed. I had laid on the the Sleep Number's as well and liked them a lot, but when I laid on the Simmons it was wonderful. We have a firm with pillowtop which was recommended everywhere we looked due to my back problems, but enjoying the comfort of a softer bed. We did actually pay about the $1500 range you're looking to stay in for a king size bed with box spring included in that price. Purchased from a company associated with Nebraska Furniture.

I know I included a lot of information but I figured it may be beneficial to you and even others to know why we went with the Simmon's over others we tried. I fall asleep so easily now (it used to take about an hour or more) and typically don't even wake up when FI gets up for work (I used to wake with any movement all night).

Good luck in your bed search!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
