2010 travel packages?

Recommended Posts

jerseykitten, that's the same thing that we have.. resort prices but no airfare. there is actually an airline that runs shuttles from the cincinnati airport to DR and their flight times are always consistent so they book further out than the regular airlines, but still no contracts with their prices in it yet. at least i know my TA should be able to get us the best possible deal... just can't wait to finally start getting guests booked! i can't stand the waiting game!

I got on my resort web site just to check price and they are on there for the week I need in March. They have gone up a little but from this year prices which I thought they would, but not by much. Airfare on the other had I'm still waiting on. I will have to wait about one more week by the looks of things. I can check my flight going but not my return flight. The only thing I'm happy about is the Airline we really want to fly (which when we 1st started looking was going to be out of the question because of the price) looks to be the lowest right now.

I am May 2010, so no flights yet. I was able to price a package through a TA and he was able to tell me what flights are listed for May as of now, but he wanted to make sure I understood they are not conclusive so we play the waiting game for now. We were able to book our honeymoon stay though. Some resorts still don't have that option, from what I've been reading.

Hi all,

We booked our May 2010 wedding the end of March.

I've been dealing with a travel agent who is also a friend...there's pros and cons with that I think, lol..but mainly pros!

Either way--most of everything I know I found out on my own....I research the crap out of everything....Imthe one who called her up tot ell her 2010 packages were out for RIU ocho Rios...and then she helped me with it all and booked.....its nice to go to someone you trust to ask thema million questions, and not feel bad......lol.....either way--we booked the wedding date online witht he resort, then booked the package (the AI ) thru Sunquest....and we received a price too.....now mind you.....our group rate quote is now 60 bucks more the the printed price in the brochure that just came out for 2010....sooo Im looking into that...Im not sure if tehres restrictions, of if tehres a chance the rate will drop---the part Im confused about...but either way--all our group booking has started, and we have 25 guests booked......

I love my travel agent, she had my resort send her a box of brochures for the resort for me and is totally on the ball and quick to respond to all my emails.... My date is not until 10/10/10 so we have no prices yet but I'm sure as soon as they're out she'll have them : )

I am getting married March 28, 2010 and we just put deposits down all all of our guests rooms. We are less than a year away now so hotel rates are out and they are pretty good right now considering the economy. I do not know what flights are going to run yet however I went to the DR on vacation last year and JFK to Punta Cana was about $400 round trip!

How do you get all those cool things in the bottom of your profile? I tried following the instructions but could not figure anything out!

Hi Lindsay, is your pic within the max dimensions? You can either upload your sig from your computer or if you have a photobucket account, you can upload it from there. Full instructions are here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t866 and then you can test it out here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t25474
As for the tickers, use ones with codes: PseudoHTML, UBBCode, or BBCode. Some good sites are daisypath, tickerfactory, wedding countdown. Once you have it, you paste the code into your sig area under UserCP. Hope this helps!
Let me know if you have any more questions...

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
