2010 travel packages?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone gotten any 2010 travel package prices yet, either from a TA or on your own?

Our first package price (Vacation Express) came in for 4/24/10 - 5/1/10 for Dreams PC and the hotel ALONE even without a flight was nearly double the hotel/flight rate for the same week this year from Apple Vacations. (Apple prices for Spring 2010 aren't out yet)

Anyone have any experience with this? It made me a little nervous since the affordability of Dreams was one of the reasons we chose it. I know prices tend to go down over time, but I wanted to check and see if any of you have had similar experiences with pricing.

Thanks for your help!

I was told when you go thru a TA and you book the resort and the flight together is will always be cheaper. For my resort my rates wont be out till May. I know that you can't look at a flight more than 10 months out. I'm like you want to go ahead and book are stuff but now all I can do is wait. I hope this helped

Hey -

I am March 20 2010 and I have already booked with the tour company (Sunquest). I spoke with my TA (who is a good friend) at the first of March 2009 and because my dates are not flexible we called and got rates for march 15-19 2010. There are restrictions and unknowns but I wanted to book it so that I knew we had something confirmed.

If you would like more info about what the restrictions and unknowns are let me know...

Cheers

Marcie

Oh my gosh really!? I'll have to check out Sunquest and Sunwing...THANKS MARCIE and krayzeekitty!!

After I blogged yesterday I went to another TA, I was so jacked that the lady at my first pick never called me back and I just wan't happysad.gif I rushed up there and got really positive result. NO firm prices at this time still but at least I feel like they understood, shed some light onto different resorts and the qualities of each. They were really personal and overall fun.... Today I'm better....but still looking:)

Have a good Easter Everyone.

Glad that it all worked out!! I love my TA but it also helps that she is a friend. I am sure all will work out for you. Keep in touch with your planning!

I am April 10, 2010 and was able to get resort prices but Airfare prices don't come out until 330 days before. I'm going through a TA but I know it says Sunquest on my contract.

I had the same experience as you all did with 3 different TAs not following up with me...I couldn't believe they didn't want my business! The one I'm using now is awesome....she emails me regularly, calls me and has done everything she said she will.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
