What to wear to NJ Wedding?

Well 2 pm is semi-formal. Definitely hold the white pants. If you are into dresses a nice halter dress would be nice or you can never go wrong with blacl. It is prom season now so you can find something that is sexy chic and in between at a good deal....As someone mentioned you definitely do not want to be underdressed. White sandals is definitely not a good idea either IMO.

I'd agree that it depends on where the wedding is...

I had a girlfriend who wore one of those one piece pant-strapless things with chunky jewelry because she is not a dress person either, but the material was really nice and flowey(SP?).

Anyway, I am a Jersey girl myself, so if it is South Jersey I can really clue you in on what to wear.

Hi i went to a wedding in new york an italian, irish event at the yale club.I wore all black lace two piece with dusky pink accesories. I think the wearing white only becomes possible if you are attending just the evening event.Personally id use it as an excuse to go on another shopping trip. Sorry if that wasnt what you really wanted to here.I also think if you are sensible and go with dressy black with fun bright accesorries you can bring an outfit bang up to date and pull it out at xmas with different jewellry and have more fun with it.

2pm big Jersey Italian wedding - dress up...I've never been to one where people weren't decked out...day or night. As a Jersey girl who's been almost only Italian weddings, followed by Jewish weddings which are pretty much the same....trust me on this!!!

I'm also Italian, and from Jersey. You're talking about people who basically wear a prom dress to go to the mall and fake eyelashes at the gym, so I would try to get as dressed up as possible. I would definitely not wear any white/ ivory/ or variation of the color. Pants are totally fine though. Why not just black pants and a satin or beaded top. The Limited always has super cute tops that can be worn more formal, and you can use them again to go out at night with some jeans.

ditto on what others have said about the nj italian weddings. doesn't matter what time of day it is, it will be dressy. for italians, wearing all black to a wedding isn't the no-no it is in other cultures or other parts of the country (in fact, it's almost the uniform, lol). wearing any shade of white/cream/off-white however will probably get stares and whispers. you don't need to wear a dress if you are uncomfortable with it--dress pants with a dressy blouse and the right heels/jewelry can be enough.

edited to point out to the jersey girls that there's a BDW meetup this weekend in south philly! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36815

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
