Secrets - Romantic dinner option?

Recommended Posts

My comment has nothing to do with the menu, but thought you might be interested to know the info. We've been to Secrets Capri twice and think the "Romantic Dinner" isnt really worth it. We didnt do it, but from what we saw and what we heard, that was our opinion.

The restaurants are all nice with a romantic setting, tables are far enough away that you dont feel like you are next to someone else, and they have great food. At Capri, the Romantic Dinner is on the beach - which is actually really windy at night. IMHO, its worse to be out there when you could be on the deck of a restaurant that shields some of the wind and is free (well, I guess 'included' would be a better word).

Thought that might help you save some money :)

I agree with DallasAshli...

I as at Secrets Maroma in December and before we went were planning on doing the romantic dinner...

But then when we got there, we just thought it was kind of a waste of money...

As DallasAshli said, you can have a nice romantic dinner at any of the restaurants...

And if you want it REALLY private, just order room service and sit on your balcony:-)

( We did this one night when were too tired to go out:-) We had an ocean-front room so it was really nice...but I think any other category room balcony would be just as nice...with a different view:-))

From what I can recall, it obviously wasn't as extensive as you can get at all the restaurants, but it had a pretty good array of options!
Plus, if there was one thing you REALLY wanted that wasn't on the room service menu, you could always ask if they'd bring it anyway...tips go a LONG way to getting you this kind of service:-)
As a side note -- you an order the coconut ice cream through room service, and I highly recommend it...with every meal:-)

  • 4 weeks later...

The room service menu (i was there 2 weeks ago for my wedding) is definitely not as extensive as the restaurants like Simistar mentioned. :) DH was craving Italian one night when Portofino was closed and we had to get room service. There were only like pasta options. They mostly have burgers, quesadillas, pizza, pasta, and some other choices that are "fancier". The beach option by building 17 for the romantic dinner is right by the diving palapa and even though it's a night it's probably not as pretty as the location by building 27. The "garden" and grassy areas aren't anything too special IMHO.

After being there and strongly considering the romantic dinner option we decided that doing a couples massage (we upgraded the one that we got in the Ultimate package) was something we'd like more. Plus you can go early and stay late if you want to do the hydrotherapy circuit. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
