Recommended Posts

Thank you for the wonderful review. We leave for Dreams tomorrow morning and cannot wait to check everything out! We scheduled a food tasting as well so I will bring back lots of pics and details. We've decided to do A La Carte so it will be interesting what we decide on. We are also meeting with Juan Carlos Tapia, so excited!! Talk to you all when I return! :) Hooray!

Ooh . Great. I'll get more information. I love that some of you get to do a site visit. It really helps us brides who can't do one.

Dreams has a different "drink of the day", all were sooo yummy!! If you don't like sweet drinks I recommend the blended mojito, sooo refreshing! Hmmm...maybe I should start a "What drinks to order at Dreams" thread...
Yeah. I think that would be a great idea. I know we were told that Dreams is really the only AI that served premium liquor

Hi Michelle! I actually haven't picked a package yet and Yarai my WC says I dont have to confirm which package I want until like a month before the actual wedding date. But I think i'm gonna go with the complimentary Paradise package. I have already found and confirmed most of my vendors so Yarai says that since I have my own vendors the Paradise Package would be better budget wise for me.

Oh and for the brides that are working with Florenta flowers, they are the florist that Dreams works with. So Dreams can talk florenta flowers into discounting your total, because if you look at all the packages they pretty much come with a bouquet and boutonniere.

Happy Planning Michelle!

Hello Ladies! Since I have gotten so many great ideas and options from this site I wanted to give back and do a little review of my site visit. My wedding is booked for October 26th, 2009 so we decided to do our site visit and stay at Dreams March 22nd through the 24th. It was my first time seeing and actually staying at Dreams and let me tell you, it was wonderful!

Dreams: Overall a great hotel. All-inclusive is the best way to go when you want to gather a variety of people like we are for our wedding. The rooms were HUGE, and I only had a Jr Suite, I cant imagine how big the honeymoon or onebr suites are. The room was very clean. Maid and turn down service twice a day. The food at the resort was way better than I expected. All the resturants had good quality, fresh food with alot of variety between all the resturants. We literally ate every 2 hours popcorn.gif, it was ridiculous! I ate more in 1 day than I do a whole week back home. Drinks were also very good. A little on the weak side, but then again all I kept ordering were pina coladas and blended mixed drinks. Once we started ordering mojitos and rum and cokes those were a different story. bunny_4.gif

We did our tasting for the reception and honestly we had such a hard time deciding on what we wanted to serve at the reception because everything was good. We ended up going for the ahi tuna for our salad, and the surf and turf and salmon/scallop for our entrees and the tiramisu for our dessert. I've craved that tiramisu everyday since we've left cabo.

WC Yarai: We met with Yarai to go over our wedding plans. To all the ladies that are working with Yarai: you are in very good hands. She is awesome! She gave us a variety of options and always kept our budget in mind. She is very organized, professional, and very easy to work.

DJs: We met with both DJ Ricardo and DJ Mijares during our site visit. We were torn because both were very nice and professional. We ended up going with DJ Ricardo. His experience was impressive, over 20 years as a DJ. We also felt that his style of DJ'ing was what we were going for.

Rev. Marco.: Rev. Marco has such a wonderful calming presence about him. We talked about incorporating our filipino wedding traditions into our wedding. He was very accommodating and was actually very familiar with all our filipino wedding traditions. Theres no doubt in our minds that he will be able to deliver a very memorable ceremony for us, as well as our guest.

And lastly, I know that with the crazyness going on in the news about Mexico right now safety is in the back of all our minds. Let me tell you, we felt totally safe the whole time we were in Cabo. Being an all inclusive, the Dreams resort had more security then other resorts we have stayed in. They really know who is coming and going at the resort at all times.

I have found all the vendors and people that i'am working with on this site, so thank you to all the brides that have taken the time to write their reviews and answer questions. Planning my wedding would be a million times harder and more time consuming without this site.
Thanks for your review! It was awesome. I'm getting married at Dreams in April 2010 and I was wondering how the weather was in March, windy? rainy?. Is is warm enough to have an outdoor reception? I'm concerned because we have quite a few guest traveling with us and I want everyone to be comfortable. smile125.gif

The weather while we were there was perfect! Your guest will love it! It was warm but not hot, perfect sun dress with flip flops and swimming weather. The evenings were a little cooler but I was still able to wear dresses and shorts. There was an outdoor wedding reception every night we were there and even a furniture company convention party that had about 300 guest and everyone was wearing summer outfits. Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
