Here's to my late night/early A.M.posters!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

It's good to know I am not alone! It is 0630 here and I am seriously not tired. I am a night shift nurse and I can't remember the last time I fell asleep before 4 am. Sometimes I get sleepy around 10 pm and naively think I'll be able to stay asleep all night but noooope, I wake up at 1 am and then I am up even longer into the morning.

I both love it and hate it. I certainly don't want to have to go to work at 7 am eek! Plus it does give a lot of time for wedding research and crafts (right now I am finishing the last of my homemade hibiscus guest information packets). Plus I like being the life of the party when we go out with friends as they've been up and at work all day but I just woke up!

Plus night shift diff. : ) Great post...we're not crazy just....a little different.

Hi, I hope everyone has a great week! I have been working so much that I haven't really been able to get my BDW fixes lately. I think I was having withdrawal symptoms. I need at least a couple hours a day. I usually find time to take a peak or two at work, but lately....well ladies I was just checking in with the after hours crew!

What up, Tammy!

Yeah, I'm up, too -- my weekly visit at my parent's house today is the cause of tonight's sleeplessness. This is a bit of a side tangent, but I sort of got into it with my mother tonight about the possibility of doing a TTD. Are you doing one? She thinks it's preposterous that I would want to "wade in the ocean and roll around in the sand" in my dress for the sake of a few photos, but more and more, I am thinking I want to do one, regardless of the fact that she bought my dress and doesn't agree! WTF?!

Anyway, thanks for checking in and I'm glad to hear you're well!

Hey Chris, I am sorry to hear that you argued with your mom. That is never fun. I am doing a TTD session in my real wedding dress. You only get to wear it once for a few hours, why not have fun and get all the use out of it you can? I was going to buy a used one on Ebay to use but I really like my dress and I want pics in it. If it will save an arguement buy a cheap one on ebay or look for a cheapie one in your area. I found one in our local Pennysaver for $50 but I had already pretty much made my mind up to use the real one. The majority of the brides on this site who used the real dress said that it was able to be dry cleaned and turned out just fine.

Bottom line, I think that this is your time to be a princess. This is the one time in your life where the only people who need to be pleased are you and your FI. I think we have to be sensitive to others, but really you need to have the freedom to make this your event. Anyway, after the wedding when your mom sees the pics she will more than likely be happy that you did a TTD. If it will save an argument buy a cheapie to use. That is one way to keep the peace.

Awesome advice, Tammy -- thanks so much for listening! I probably shouldn't have, but I posted a thread about it to see if other people have come up against family members who don't agree with their decision to do a TTD. Good for you on sticking to your guns that you will be doing it in your actual dress! I think I'll look for a cheapie dress, if it means that much to her, since I am really trying to avoid any "bridezilla moments" where I pout and scream, "But it's OUR WEDDING, damn it, and we'll roll around in the sand if we want to!"

Again, thanks for your advice...now I am going to give that whole "sleeping" thing a try! Good night, er, morning!

Hey all, yes once again I am up. And yes, I have to be at work early. I was tired when I went to bed but......

Chris, I will check out what other advice people gave you about your TTD dilemma on the thread. Sometimes its good to bounce whatever issues you are having off of other people.

Hmm... it is 3:15 in Texas... so this could be considered a late night/early am post right? Actually, I am in Tel Aviv on business, so it is a 5 minute break between meetings at 11:15 am. Unfortunately, my body is still not adjusted to this time to zone, so it FEELS like a late night post.

I have been so busy here that I have hardly had time to be on the forum... it is like an addict without their fix... how bad is that?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
