My Knight in cowboy boots :)

Recommended Posts

First off I can't say how happy I am that I landed apon this website. This is EXACTLY what i was looking for.

My FI and I actully met on myspace. I was SUPPOSED to be working, and was clicking away wasting time on myspace and by fate alone, ended up on his page. I just thought he was the cutest thing ever and saw he was from the midwest (we both were living in California) I told my best friend and she convinced me to send him a message....so I did. We met out with a group a friends and he was hooked from day one :) We quickly fell head over heels in love with eachother and spent every waking moment together. 9 months down the road, he was graduating from a military school so both our families flew in. We had planned a dinner with his family and mine on the gorgeous beaches of la jolla. At sunset, he told me he got me a little gift for being so wonderful and supportive during all of his training. I opened the box to see a pair of earrings that I had wanted from this beach vendor and was BEYOND excited. I was raving to my mom how much i wanted the earrings. I looked at my FI and he was just smiling ear to ear and said there was something else in there. I looked down and the box, and removed the paper and then turned to him as he was down on one knee as the sun slowly set over the ocean.

About a week after that, we packed up our bags in San Diego, drove to NorthDakota (where hes from) and then down to Virginia Beach where we live now.

In a span of 9 months we have got engaged, moved crossed country and have bought a beautiful home.... Now we are trying to plan the wedding.

I am really hoping to get ANY suggestions from other brides as possible. Because my FI is in the military, we are kind of governed by when they will allow him to take leave. We are currently thinking of doing Nov 28th (Sat after Thanksgiving) Yes, i know i'm cutting it close, but given our situation, we will make it work! I want something intimate and relaxed. I imagine it beachside or overlooking the ocean and someone plays a guitar. I do not want to have it in a ball room. Ideally I would lvoe to find a place that completly takes care of EVERYTHING. I am not so much worried about flowers, or table settings. I do not want anything extravagant. My FI is a country boy through and through and would want something more relaxed. I am just soooo excited to be marrying the man of my dreams...my cowboy. As long as we have our family and close friends there I'll be happy.

Would love to hear any and all suggestions. We are open pretty much to ANY location :)

AND.... here is the pic of the ring! It was just perfect. He went with his sister to pick out the ring and she said he had taken the different diamonds into the sun to see which one sparkeled the most. Thats SOOO SPECIAL coming from my FI who is the hunter/fisher mans man guy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
