Is Your Wedding Trip Also Your Honeymoon?

Ours is. We wouldn't be able to afford both if we hadn't. We're spending 8 or 9 days in St. Thomas and I doubt anyone will still be around on our last few days anyhow, so I'm not too worried about friends and family being around.

We are also moving to a different resort, we are upgrading to one a little more posh then we usually go to. However, we have a few friends staying the seccond week also but at the same resort as the wedding. We are just moving next door so we still have our private time but can hang out with friends during the day on the beach if we want.

It would be so great to have some "down" time and alone time after the wedding...but we have 3 kids that we have to get back home after our wedding week in Mexico...so hopefully we'll find a great seat sale in Jan / Feb of the following year and take a honeymoon at that point. Although...a trip to Mexico (for the wedding) is as good as a honeymoon...no complaints here :)

We are going to take a honeymoon a bit after (we have to be in the US when my sister graduated from med school) to a combination of South African safari / up to the Mediterranean (between Spain, greece, italy, Turkey at this point)!

Sooo excited for that!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
