Is Your Wedding Trip Also Your Honeymoon?

I think FI and I are going to stay in Jamaica but move to a different resort. We're getting married at the Iberostar and staying there for 5 days (June 15-20th?) with our guests, then moving the Sunday after the wedding to Couples Swept Away in Negril and staying there for 6 or 7 days.

That's the plan for now, although it hasn't been booked yet. We thought about going somewhere totally new after the wedding, but it is more cost effective for us to stay in Jamaica. Plus we don't really want to deal with any more plane travel than we have to. We are planning on a big 1 year anniversary trip though:-) Greece or St.Lucia.

We're having our honeymoon at the same resort that we are getting married at. We're only staying 4 days longer after we get married. I was set on having a legal ceremony and the area we're getting married in Mexico we had to arrive at least 3 full business days early. We're supposed to move to South Africa for my FI's job in 4 weeks so that'll be our real honeymooon.

We are spending a total of 9 days in Hawaii. We will be staying six days on Kauai (3 of which will be after the wedding) with our friends and family and then flying to Oahu alone for the last three days. We figured that we're already somewhere beautiful so we mine as well stay and combine the wedding and honeymoon.

Its really interesting to read what everyone is doing!

We are going to go to a different, smaller hotel (maybe adults only) for another week. Just so it can be just the two of us. We love our friends and family but we want a week to oursleves. A lot of them will probably be staying at the wedding hotel for another week.

Personally for the honeymonn, I just want to relax and be waited on so we are probably going to a "fancier" hotel but still all inclusive.

We are flying to Puerto Vallarta 3 days before the wedding, getting married on Saturday, then staying at the same resort until the next Saturday for a total of 10 days. We're only doing a religious ceremony down there to avoid all of the legal hassles. This trip is our weddingmoon. In the summer we are planning a private cruise of the Greek Islands for our honeymoon. So totally excited!!!

We are staying at our wedding resort for 9 nights in Riviera Maya, so we'll be there 2 nights after everyone else leaves by ourselves. Then we're going over to Cozumel for 7 nights and then staying in Cancun our last night before we head home. So we'll be gone for a total of 17 nights, this is the longest vacation I've ever been on and I am so excited for everything!

We are staying at our wedding resort for our honeymoon, we were originally going to move to a smaller resort or villa but it just seemed like too much effort and extra expense.

All our guests are coming from the U.K and staying for 2 weeks holiday. We are staying on for an extra week just the two of us after everyone else leaves.

Three weeks in total, Im such a lucky girl... pinkie.gif

We're doing a 7 night Caribbean cruise with our family and friends and getting married while in port at St. Thomas. When our ship gets back to Miami, we're heading straight for the airport to go to Jamaica for a week. I know we will need some "real" alone time after spending a week with everybody. I can't wait! :)

We are staying for 2 weeks at our resort. First week with everyone and the second week alone. We are booked into the Royal Service section of the resort, but probably won't spend much time there the first week as we'll be hanging with everyone else. We'll enjoy the privacy and perks of the RS during our second week - "honeymoon week"!

We are having a weddingmoon also. We are staying a total of 11 days in Tulum, and some guest will be there from 4-15 days. So we are just planing on taking our "dream" honeymoon/vacation for our 1 yr anniversay. Either a meditearan cruise, trip to Greece, PR or ?. Either way, we are excited as we have never been to any of those places.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
