This was FH's logic. I actually debated it with him because I originally wanted to switch so that we could experience a different local, but he said he didn't want to spend any part of our time away traveling and unpacking for a second time. I caved, and now that I've done some researched, I'm really happy with staying the entire time.

We'll arrive a day before the guests, and then stay three days after, so hopefully that will give us enough "alone" time to feel like we had a honeymoon on our own.

We are having a weddingmoon! We did our legal day 1yr before THE day and then left for Australia & New Zealand the day after our legal day so I kind of consider that our honeymoon. This is the first time that even Joe's ENTIRE family has been together so we're really happy his entire family and my family can even be together so most of the crew is staying 2 weeks. Although we aren't having a resort wedding and our guests are staying in some bungalows off the beach in Akumal and we are staying down the beach a bit in a big villa. We have a little one so we don't really have an option to go on a great honeymoon by ourselves anyway. We travel sooooo much that it doesn't bother us too much. We go to Thailand every year, then the olympics in february and we'll be spending a month in Africa next spring so we don't feel the NEED for a separate honeymoon

We are only staying 1 week, so our trip is our wedding and honeymoon all together. So no alone time for us as our guests are staying the whole week too. I wanted to go for 2 weeks but I lost that battle. So we literally get married on the Thurdsay and come home the Sat. lol. I do hope to go away just the two of us next year though.

FI and I will be at our wedding resort for about one week and we'll leave the day after the wedding to go to another resort in the area that's couples only...Our honeymoon is actually my wedding gift to FI- he thinks that we're staying at the same hotel where we'll be married, so I'm pretty excited!! Let's see how long I can keep it secret, lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
