First dance song?

Recommended Posts

So girls, just wondering what song you have chosen to dance to for the first time with your husband? Why did you choose this song?

Our song is Awake by Secondhand Serenade. Whenever this song comes on, Everton grabs me and starts dancing with me and singing it as loud as he can, it mortifies my children, hehehe. The words just say it all, it's a great song!!!

2 weeks out and still undecided can you believe that?

Either "You Make Love Like Springtime" by Teena Marie (title says it all), "Wildchild" by Tony Toni Tone because it reminds us of us, "Timeless" by India.Arie because it has such a happy love message, or "Lost Without U" by Robin Thicke because it's pretty and we can't get it out of our heads lately so it will always remind us of getting ready for the wedding.

Umm, guess we aren't ready to go yet :o)

we were just discussing this the other night. I think we have it narrowed down to two, Bless the broken road by rascal flatts, because it just fits our relationship, or I'll stand by you by the pretenders, which is also very fitting. Who knows by the time our wedding gets here we could have a few other options as well!

"It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. I never listened to country until Matt made me a country CD a few weeks after we met. Now I love it, and this song is perfect for us. I think our "second dance" song (when the bridal party joins us) will be "I'll Stand By You", the Carrie Underwood version.

Our song was (it's soooo strange to talk about my wedding now in the past tense!) "Come What May" from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Long story short- it's a song we both loved before we were together, but were friends. When we started dating we always said it would be our wedding song- it's quite dramatic.

Our song with our parents was "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Grobin. My dad loves that song.

Susan, I never liked country either, but my sister actually made me a country CD, right at the same time when Steve & I were getting back together and I swear we must have played that CD 1000 times, we brought it everywhere with us, everyone loved listening to it and I made her make us another one. So now we listen to country all the time, funny how I used to HATE it!

Yeah, I know, it grows on you! I've noticed that a lot of the "pop/top 40" stations are now playing some country too...like Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood, and all these people who swear they hate country are singing right along :) I hear Justin Timberlake is may put out a country CD. I can't wait...

I love that song! I have it on my website and we'll dance to it sometime during the wedding. For our first dance I wanted to do something crazy like Amy and Robert did for their first dance on Everybody Loves Raymond but Im not sure.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
