silly computer problem

I did something to my desktop at work last week and I can't figure out how to undo it. I don't even remember what I did, but all the sudden my icons had a square of color around them, that matched my background. Normally the filling is "clear", I guess that's the way to say it anyway, and now it is so annoying that there are orange blocks everywhere! Does anyone know how to fix it? Here is a pic:

Hmmmm. I am not sure if that would fix this (well I tried and nothing changed). The easiest place to see where it looks messed up is on top of the picture, you can see the orange blobs around the words of the files. Before, there was no color there and they were just on top of the pic, but you could see through it. It really isn't a big deal, but it's so annoying!

Any other suggestions?

Damn, Jess, I thought that was going to work, it seemed so promising. We have XP 2007. I tried to do what you suggested, but that choice was already made, so I tried to change it and then change it back (ya know how sometimes things just need to be refreshed?), but no go. Unless, do you think I need to restart for it to take effect? I will try that now...

Geez Carly!

Okay, I'm not sure this will work, but... try this: go to start>settings>control panel>display>customize>advanced

From there you should see a window with a bunch of panes in it. Try clicking on window text. It should have 2 color associations with it - #1 should be the background (what you want to change) and the second should be the text color.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
