Hi Lori and welcome1.gif

Do you feel that by having outside vendors that the will make more complicated with planning? By just using the resort list you maybe cutting yourself a little short, especially when it comes to photography. there are lots of great local photographers that are listed here on the board as well as many state side that are willing to travel. It would be a shame to go all that way and not have fantastic photos of your wedding.

~Lori Welcome! I had similar issues when picking a resort, I finally decided on Excellence Playa Mujeres based on reviews from Tripadvisor and a referral from a well traveled friend. Watch out for beach quality in the reviews you'll see many of the beaches arent swimable... Friends that attended a wedding at Excellence said My the food was awesome, especially the lobster tails!

Hi Lori,

I'm a new bride to be also and have been doing ALOT of research. The only resort I've ever stayed at was the Iberstar Maya and it was AWESOME!! We have some friends who are getting married there in August that also have a small group of people attending. You should definitely check it out. Good Luck!

Hi Lori,

Congrats on your engagement & welcome to the forum.

I am getting married this July at Secrets Maroma Beach. Cecilia the wedding coordinator there has been a pleasure to communicate with. If you have any questions about the resort there are a few girls on the forum that have been married there.

Best of luck with your planning :)

Lori -

Congrats on your wedding! I am also getting married at Secrets Maroma Beach in May. I have heard such great things about the beach there and my TA has visited the property many times and has many great things to say about it...especially the beach. Like Beach2009 I have had a good experience working with Cecilia at SMB. I will not be using the photographer that the hotel offers but using an outside vendor, Sascha Gluck, with the help of this forum we found him and we are very excited as we didnt hear such great reviews about the one the hotel contracts with.

Good luck and after my wedding date if you have any questions or want any feedback let me know.

Nicole

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
