Florida or Playa del Carmen Wedding Locations?

Hey krs182! We are going through a travel agent and most of my guests are spending about $1200 per person for around a one week stay. For thursday to sunday they are spending around $850 per person. I hope that helps you. Just recently the prices went down, so the prices listed above are the new rates. If you don't want to go through a travel agent Funjet Vacations - Vacation Packages to Las Vegas Mexico Hawaii the Caribbean Europe Family Travel Destination Package Air Hotel Online Booking has great rates and there are also great TA's on this forum.

We have a RIU Palace Riviera Maya thread going. Feel free to join in or read the posts because there is tons of info on the hotel and weddings on there: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t25118

OK great, thanks for the information!

DId you go through a travel agent? Do you find that it helped? I heard I maybe should go through a travel agent for price help and because they can help make sure you get what you pay for, so Ive been considering, curious your thoughts on this.

Also, any thoughts from your guests on the pricing? I love the places in Playa del Carmen so much, but I am afraid people will think 200+ per person per night is too much. I would love to find a place that is more like 100 or 150 per person, so a couple would only have to pay 200-300 per rooom. However, I havent seen anything close to that rate. Any advice? Any thoughts from your guests?

I will go check out the string on Riu PM Brides too, thanks for your help!

No problem! Yes, I would definitely recommend going through a TA. They work for your best interest and can find prices and let you know of things that you otherwise wouldn't be aware of. It is worth it for sure.

My guests are okay with the price. Lots of them have been to RIU's before so they know it will be worth the price. If you want something a little cheaper maybe you can check out the RIU palace mexico-it is right next door from the RIU palace riviera maya and since it is a little older it is probably cheaper and it also looks very nice. Good luck! Feel free to PM me if you need anything else wink.gif

I am planning a wedding this fall near Playa del Carmen at the advice of some friends who LOVED it there. I have been to Cancun a few times, though...which is only about 45 mins away. Just in case you choose this area, make sure you check out the local cave-bar called El Lux in Playa del carmen. My best friend has shown me pictures, and it looks like the craziest place to grab a drink or meal..EVER. I cant wait to actually BE THERE! All of the historical Mayan sites are cool, too ( Chichinitza, Tulum, etc) and there are within like 30 mins, just make sure you price the trips with people who have been, I think we got riipped of when we visited through our resort. There are pics of it posted on Tripadvisor as well. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
