Megan I took the activity book templates you gave me a while ago and added to it so I now have a 15 (I think) page activity book. I added games like dots and Tic tac toe, an adult maze more soduku I put the scavenger hunt in there and I also made some personalized crosswords and word sereachs. The word search has the names of all the rooms on our ship (like posh dining Babylon casino etc)... I've made about 10 out of 40 copies of the activity books (I have to make them at work so I have to do it late when no one's in the office). That was a fun project when I was creating it. Sneaking around to copy them for free is not too fun lol.

Thus far my fav DIY project was my homemade soaps. That was a very long project esp since the soaps have to dry for two weeks before packaging. I just finished them up this week. I put three soaps- 2 hearts and 1 sea soap (either seashells. dolphins or starfish) for the woman and one bigger bar soap for the guys, in the cute little clear plastic bags from Michaels, I had already printed out our logos on sicky paper and put the hand cut logos on the bags lol. Then I tied orange and green ribbon on the bags.

I started shopping for items to make my own barefoot sandals. That'll prolly be my next fav project. I also started shopping for the paper to use on my DIY travel mugs...

I think I will have Ana do my programs as she did my invites as well.

I'm glad you added more sudoku, I wish I had and might get some separate books for those who like it. And I love the idea of the word search with the ship room names! You don't like sneaking around the print them out?? I had to flirt with the librarian so he wouldn't notice what I was doing wink.gif (a 40 something overweight man who loves star trek! Not what one would call a major hottie!)

I think we are going to make soaps for my bridal shower so thanks for the 2 week tip I didn't know that.

  • 3 weeks later...

We're getting married at a tapas restaurant set in this old Georgian mansion, so our wedding will have a distinctly Spanish/old world vibe. Our colors are red black and gold, and we're incorporating lots of lace.

We're having a photobooth, so our favors are the photos themselves...since they print in 2x6 strips, we got little plastic bookmark sleeves for everyone to take their picture strips home in. At everyone's place at the reception, there will be a bookmark sleeve with a note in it explaining what it's for.

File attached.

I am glad I read this thread, funny stuff! I am trying to add something that has not been said; some DIY that I want to do are...

1. Get Iron on "Bride" jewels to put on a bathing suit, bottom of skirt, hat, tanks etc... (and do this for the MOH and Bride's maids) I really want to give my bride's maids some clothing with their title on it, it would be fun to wear it throughout the week.

2. Make personalized to-go mugs with pictures of my finace and I with the guest. Sort of like a scrapbook of memories and I want to find a good saying about drinking, haha(everytime I've been to Mexico I've brought these to keep my drinks cold in the sun, they are a lifesaver!)

3. I am going to sew some table runners to bring in my wedding color, just incase.

4. A "bought" blanket for pictures on the beach, then embroider some of your vows on it? It would make a cute picture. I love the idea of having your vows somewhere (I am hoping to embroider a sentence from mine in blue, in the inside of my dress.

5. Make homemade candy for OOT bags and put it in a bag with your monogram sticker to seal it!

That is all I can think of right now, Hope it gives you some inspiration!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
