I did so many DIY stuff (less than some other brides but still) and I LOVEd it ! Bonus, DH LOVED it too ! So it gave us the opportunity to do planning stuff together...

The funniest : our website. I wanted a bilingual website French/English so I could not go with the pre-made ones. So I went on Yola, an AWESOME site to build your free website. Completely free, unlimited file hosting, super easy to use, great simple online tuition. As this forum is public (everybody can read it, even if you're not registered), PM me if you want the address...

The most challenging : the invites and brochures. You have already probably done yours. You can see mine there : http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t35894 I went for the boarding pass, but did something a little different from everything I had seen.

The most artistic : our monogram, you're probably done with this too...

The most romantic : our vows and ceremony

Ooooh I definitely advise you to go through this one. At least the vows. But we also had such a good time with DH picking up the readings, and personnalizing the ceremony. This is the one that took us the longest time - we wanted it to be really us. I finished it yesterday, too.

The easiest : the other one project that is completed so far : my thank you cards. I started to receive gifts on my registry so this one had to be done pronto ! you can see my stuff here : http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39832

The current ones :

1. Hanging tags for OOT bags and hungover kits

Still need cutting, perforating and assembling. Here are some pics :

2. Programs.

I completed the design yesterday night. I went for a "regular" booklet program, since our program contains translations of English readings/songs in French and vice versa - so pretty thick. It's gonna be a total of 3 letter-size pages, recto-verso, that we fold in two to have an 8.5 high over 5.5 wide booklet. I still need to insert the signification of the sand ceremony, and two translations of readings / songs into French. I have inserted beach/palm tree/hammock pictures in the background that I have recolored into one tone and faded to make them look like a watermark. The cover I ordered at PaperDirect :

3. Welcome letters

Tons of ideas stolen on this forum :) Basically, a welcome note, a thanks, the program, what can be done around the hotel, the goodies in the OOT bag.

4. Who's who

Will be with the welcome letter. Pics of everybody that will be there for the week-end. Instead of doing it yearbook format, we are doing collage - DH family, my family, US friends, overseas friends... with "bubbles" of thoughts or legends like in comic books

5. Door hangers

Love the "Do not disturb, wait, is this a margarita" on one side and "please disturb" on the other... since it will be only us at the hotel... Not sure I'll have the time !

6. Coloring books

For the kids. Definitely not high on my priority list. As you can see we're drawing near !

7. Thank you CDs

I was thinking of making a CD to place in the OOT bags with the musics of the ceremony + a few others. Not sure yet if we'll do it.

8. Playlists.

yeah we don't have a DJ ! and I want a few French songs !

That's about it !

Lol ! I will try and post them this week-end.

Thinking about it, I'm also planning to prepare :
- scavenger hunt signs to put on the table / at the bar
- a sign to put over a basket to collect the disposable cameras.

Hmm my fave so far I think is my puzzle books, they were really simple but I know my fam is going to use them and like them. I copied some puzzles off different sites and printed them on plain computer paper then put them together with summer themed brads. I have a template too if anyone wants it. I also made coloring books doing the same thing & have templates.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
