Hey everyone! I am in desperate need of some advice. I told my photographer that I wanted to do a BD shoot and she has never done one before but she was so excited to do it. I am excited too because she does fabulous work and she is very tasteful. She asked me if I would be her model for other brides to look at to see if they would be interested and she would pay for everything ($800 hotel room-so posh, makeup, spray tan, hair, etc). All I have to pay for is the BD book for FI and it is only $100 (it is a real nice leather bound book). She said she would NOT have my pics on her website, but simply in a book for just BRIDES to see. I said "YES" and I was so excited and I still am. The only thing is at the time I was doing pharmaceutical sales and I didn't care if people saw the book or not, but now I have quit that job and I am getting my elementary teaching certificate and I should be teaching by this August. I am now scared that I could get fired for having my pics out there. I will be doing tasteful stuff and not showing any area a bathing suit wouldn't show. My question is should I be the model and have my images out there-it is an great opportunity and we are on one income right now and I can't afford to pay for this myself ? or do you think it is grounds for dismissal from teaching if someone ever found out? I just need some of you ladies great advice! Thanks XOXOsmile03.gif

Hmmm that's a tough one. I mean what are the odds that your photographer will show this book to parents that also want it done? If your that worried about it, find out if she can only use shots that doesn't identify who you are in her book. Of course that probably means she might not give you as great of a deal on your BD photos.

That is a tough one! I agree with Tammy; maybe ask her to only use the one's that don't show a front view of your face. A lot of shots can be done with a side profile, etc...

Either way, it sounds like you have a good relationship with the photographer. I would explain your concerns to her and see if she has any suggestions as to how you both can work this to your mutual advantage.

I agree with Sunbride. If you wear a bikini you are pretty much in BD wear unless you are doing nudes. I think as long as your face is not on the web then you are ok. Also.... I would ask her to crop angles of your face and stuff for her studio portfolio if you are worried. That's great that you have the opportunity but I understand your concern.

I think that you would be ok. If women are asking your photographer about BD pics and are interested themselves then that would be hypocritical of them to be offended if they saw you in them. Plus, how are they actually going to get you in trouble for it anyways? It's not like the school board is going to make an appointment to come in and view the BD pics-- that would be silly! If the photographer only has them in a book that she shows at her office if would be hard for random people to come in and see them.

I say go for it! That's a great deal and I'm sure they will be tasteful (from your postings you always seem like a very classy girl).

I'd hate for you to miss out on such a great opportunity! I wish you all the best with your decision!

would something like that get a teacher in trouble? I don't see anything wrong with it. Have teachers been fired for something like that? The only instances I can think of were teachers posing for porn sites.

I've been thinking about this lately since I'm about to take BD pics. I want to post some here atleast for a while & allow the photographer to use some on her site as long as they are pretty tame. I'm just wondering if it could come back to haunt a person. I keep thinking about the izzy posted on the elevators incident in the first season of grey's anatomy :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
