Real vs. Fake flowers- your opinions?

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of getting realtouch flowers for myself and for my FI's bout. I will have to ask the hotel how much real flowers will be for the BMs and other bouts & corsages.

I want to be able to use my bouquet at my TTD and AHR, so fake is probably the way to go for that instead of buying 3 bouquets.

I will be going with Fake flowers. Because I am getting married on a ship I will not be allowed to take real flowers on or off the ship. I am okay with that because I have been looking and they are just as beautiful as the real ones.

I do agree with another poster that flowers can be a waste of money because they do not last long. But to each her own!

I did real touch flowers for everything. I packed everything in a hard-case suitcase, wrapped in their original shipping paper and cardboard. They arrived OK. I only kept my bouquet with me as a carry-on. It ended up much less expensive than doing real flowers and I got exactly what I wanted.

My bouquet looked so real than when I arrived at the hotel, the staff wanted to put it in water real bad ! It gave me a good laugh wink.gif

I think I am going to go the real touch fake flowers route, I am little worried about them wilting with the heat and humidity. Did anyone have an issue with that? Also I am debating between having them made or going to Michael's and doing it with a lady there.

Right now I am leaning towards real touch flowers. I would LOVE to have fresh flowers, but it's hard to justify so much money for flowers, that may not even be exactly what I want, and that I can't even bring back home with me. But I haven't seen the flower options yet from the resort, so I'm holding off until then. But they are going to have some fabulous flowers at a really good price for me to change my mind, lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
