Ok so I feel like I am a laid back bride that really just wants this whole wedding process to be an excuss to have FUN! I told my mother that I had only 3 things that I needed her to do:

1.) wear a one piece bathing suit

2.) Not wear a dress that has her breast hanging out

3.) throw a bridal shower that is FUN IE, not tea and mini sandwiches, I would rather margaritas and nachos.

Now my mother tells me to stop making demands and hangs up on me WTF?!?!

Am I being a bridzilla?

Oh dear... but I find it pretty funny that you have to tell her number 1 and number 2, and then are concerned that she's going to throw you a prissy tea party.

Don't worry, she'll get over it.

I agree with Becks that you have to tell her about 1 & 2 and you are afraid she will throw a tea party. lol

On the other hand I am a mom and a bride. My daughter is 24 and I would of laughed if she would of mentioned 1 & 2. I would of taken it as a joke but thats the relationship we have. I think your mom might of been a bit hurt but she is a mom and we do get over it.

I'm sorry, I had to laugh at those requests!!! I think you are being more than reasonable, so the answer is NO you are not being a bridzilla.

Maybe they "stung" your mom a bit, but I would hope that she would be able to see that this is reasonable!! I sure as hell wouldn't want my mom walking around like that!

Good luck!

I totally agree with request #2! My DH's aunt showed up to our wedding the day of (I knew that they were as these were the flights they got) however, when I was walking down the aisle, I did a double take of his aunt whose boobs were just hanging out of her dress for the whole world to see. It was completely distracting and they weren't small boobs either. Needless to say, I was pretty irritated. I didn't actually think that I would have to tell someone who should have enough common sense and decency to NOT show up wearing a really tasteless low-cut dress to my wedding. Sheesh!

Don't worry, if she loves you as a mother should, she'll get over it and comply with your very reasonable requests. Good luck!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
