Hi Ladies!

Pink petals, I actually speak spanish so I have been communicating with her in spanish which makes it easier. Your fiance and you pick the entree, soup and dessert and then you pick two options for the main course out of the 4.

Also, my parents went to the dominican republci and I had tehm do a site visit for me and they said everything was beautiful. For you ladies concerned about the cake, my mom toldm me that Yanna told her that if a bride wants a bigger or nicer cake they go to an outside vendor and get a "fake" cake done. They do this in a lot of wedding halls here in the us, where the top tiers are fake and tehy have a real tier for cake cutting. My mom did not get the price so I am not sure how expensive it is.

For teh brides who already had their weddings on the SSG deck, did your shoes get stuck in between the wood, my mom is very concerned about this but Ithink I read somewhere that it was not that bad. Also, was it too hot for dancing outside?

dcairns I LOVE the changed centerpieces. I think the lights in the bottom are great and that they'll look lovely on the tables. I prefer the shells spread about because you get more of a beach theme then everything smushed together.

Pink_Petals, I think Mrs. Williams is correct. If there are 4 options (A, B, C, and D) you and your husband would choose, say, A and D, and on the night of the reception, your guests would choose either A or D as their main course. B and C would NOT be an option to them as they did not make the initial cut of what you and your husband chose.

Ultimately, people will be happy with whatever food is served, and if they are still hungry, the can always get food later with the 24 hour room service. Don't stress too much, I am sure it will be fine once you get down there and all your family is there celebrating your big day.

Just to quickly clarigy...when you said "entree" you mean "main course" right?

Also, I already know what my guests chose...I already know what each person wants as their main course...so I want to print my menus again.

Ok so lemme see if I get this now...

For the Entree, Soup and Dessert....everyone has the same thing which me and my husband choose??

And for the Main Course, each guests chooses (in th end) only one option which of course will vary depending on what the person chooses?

I want to re-print my menus again and I want to be sure Im doing it right this time.

So Person A might have:

Entree: Capresse Salad

Soup: Cream of Mushroom

Main Course: CHicken Cordon Bleu

Dessert: Pinneaple Volteado...

Person B has the same thing except for the Main Course:

Entree: Capresse Salad

Soup: Cream of Mushroom

Main Course: CHicken Cordon Bleu

Dessert: Pinneaple Volteado....

Oh man...im so screwed LOL

This is correct.  We had the silver menu and the entree, soup and dessert was the same for everyone and at the beginning of the reception the waiters asked everyone if they wanted the steak or chicken meal.  Note, we did have 1 kid under 12 and they got pizza from the kids menu

OMG Ladies!!! I feel like I've missed so much!!  I've been running around like a mad woman trying to finish all of my mini projects!  I leave Monday and won't be back until September the 27th so it will be a while before you get a review from me!

Pink Petals, hope to see you down there!

Bee,

That's exactly what I meant but it looks like you've already gotten your answer.  I hope everything works out alright.  KRod100 would you be able to find out the price of the "fake" cake? That's the look I'm going for because the options that they provided were horrid.  I have an idea of what I want and I just hope they can get it right.

I too am worried about the shoes because I have to wear heels as there is over a foot height difference between me and my FI - I'm 5'2 and he's 6'3.

so...we are now confirmed for 3pm...phew - i will now stop stressing about the light!!!

also...Yanna just told me that they are also building a new gazebo at the moment that may be finished by then (don't think i'll take that risk) but may be of use to future DLR brides!!!

GEM....how did you play your music on the beach and for the ceremony- did you book the DJ or just take an iPod? if so....did they provide you with speakers?!

Thanks :)

That's great news!

also about the new gazebo as that was a major gripe of mine.  i had booked the gazebo at 4:30 over a year before my wedding and the other bride for that day switched from the beach to the gazebo a couple of days before for 5:30.  We started over 15 mins late (have no idea why as we were all ready at 4:20 like Yanna stated) and finished the ceremony at almost 5 and was only able to take less than 5 mins of pics in front of the gazebo before they rushed us out and took down all of my decor down and quickly but up the other brides.

we also had our reception on the beach and brought a bose sounddock and it worked great and was loud enough

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
