Have any of you chosen a dress yet? I found mine yesterday but Im not too sure to order in ivory or white white. I love the idea of white white but i don't want it to look so white that it glows, and the ivory is nice because sometimes (I think anyway) it seems like it looks more expensive. Past and Future brides...any thoughts?

Hi Taylorbabe,

I bought my dress a few months ago and I decided to go with Ivory; I found that the white looks so bleached. The Ivory I got actually still looks like white but has a more natural look to it.
Here is a pic so you can get an idea of what Im talking about.

Which dress did you go with? (designer/style number)?
Mine is Allure Exclusive, style # 2252 :)

I am wondering if anyone has been able to get a local catholic priest to come celebrate their wedding at Dreams La Romana...we could go to the church of Altos de Chavron but I would rather keep everyone at the resort...let me know if you have any info!
I wanted to get a Catholic priest as well, but as dolfinluck mentioned, catholic priests do not perform religious ceremonies outside the church. So Im just going to have my religious ceremony next year in Canada (just family attending) :)

Very Nice ... you look beautiful.

I am a plus size, so I found my dress at David's Bridal in Vermont. Going to buy its actually on August 7th, but wanted my mom to see it first. I'm going with white(as most of it is a chiffon), but I agree about the Ivory with certain materials. Honestly, the Ivory is white... only we truly know the difference.

I got diamond white as white was just a bit too bright for my skin tone. it really depends on what looks best for your skin tone plus the fabric as white in silk is really more ivory. best of luck in choosing!!! some times i wish i could go wedding dress shopping again but my sister was getting annoyed after the 9 store we when to

Oh my goodness pink pettals your man is gonna die when he sees you! Stunn-ing is all I can say.

I don't think mine is online (well Im sure it is somewhere) but the ladies in the store said it was Alfred Sung Private Collection (or something like that) model 110. Same style as yours but the bottom has a couple small pick ups with tulle sticking out the bottom. I'm worried about standing in the white gazebo and looking dirty, or next to the table linens or something, maybe I'm just thinking too much.

And now...What about shoes?...for some reason I remember reading that the SSG Deck is like a wooden deck and stillettos or similar heels are not a good idea, do you remember anything about this? What about walking down the isle to the gazebo?I dont want to trip on gravel or get my heel stuck or something embarrassing.

Can't wait to get your feedback on the wedding!!

Helllloo ladies!

How are you?!

My new hubby and I got back yesterday after a fabulous 2 week stay at Dreams. I will post our review as soon as I can...still trying to catch up and unpack. All I can say is WOW. Everything was just amazing. Our whole crew had an amazing time and our week alone was great, too. We had both the ceremony and reception on the beach and they were both breathtaking. It really turned out better than we could have ever imagined it. Tiara was great and everything fell into place. I was a more relaxed bride- and just trusted her and everything was amazing. Everything from my hair and makeup to the photographer to the DJ to the pastor to the dinner to the set up. You girls really have nothing to worry about. We were so lucky because we had plenty of sunshine on our day and again, it was just amazing. And we are finally Husband and Wife!!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
