This is what I have received from Tiara this morning:

"Even if you will have a renewal of vows ceremony, you will have to be here at least 3 business days in advance.

Date change confirmed to Wednesday.

Best regards,

I think this is something that you can negotiate with the WC...just give some extenuating circumstance or something. Honestly, if you ended up showing up with only 2 days ahead, say due to a flight delay, they cannot cancel your wedding; that is just retarded business management. They just want to give themselves the extra time to prepare for your wedding. If you want to show up at the resort sooner, just let the WC know and tell her why you need it to be otherwise.

Yup. You're telling me. She asked me to make arrangements to arrive on the Friday instead of the Saturday that we are already booked for. Otherwise it was being changed to Wednesday, so I had no choice. But maybe she'll make an exception for you? Hopefully it all works out for you. Good luck. Keep me posted.

Understood but if she's telling me 8 months in advance that it's not possible and asking me to make changes to my arrangements, then can I really just show up whenever and say it was a flight delay? Especially when she has our group booking so she already knows when to expect us? Just sucks and is an inconvenience.

If you have a TA or wedding planner, ask (s)he to negotiate with the WC. My feeling is that they can make the exception if you give them a compelling enough reason. Unless you are having some complexed wedding arrangments where the extra time is needed, I am sure it is accomodatable.

Unfortunately, my TA doesn't specialize in DWs (my first mistake..but the quote was excellent!) and I don't have a wedding planner. Either way, I'm just about over it now, it's just the hassle of letting my guests know. And I don't know why it was an issue anyway. I'm not having a big spectacular wedding. I've told her it'll be about 20 and nothing customized or private. No dance floor or music even! At least not at the moment.

Well I put down a deposit for a wedding date of May 7, 2010 ... thanks for the heads up on the Cinco De Mayo celebrations. They do have organized festivities on May 5 for it, so I have decided to go with the 7th.

I am just curious how long it has taken for people to get their written conformation from the WC?

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
