Hey fellow brides! I am new here and currently trying to finalize on which resort to go with. DLR is #1 on my list right now..and I have been reading all sorts of reviews/threads/discussions on just about every resort in Jamaica and DR..

From what I have gathered, DLR sounds like the perfect place to me, but it is still a little bit nerve wrecking...I just what to make sure it REALLY is the right place for us!

What made you guys decide on DLR instead of Dreams Palm Beach or Dreams Punta Cana? I also heard good things about the Paradius..any insights on that one?

Any advice that can help me seal my final decision is much appreciated! cheesy.gif

Hello

I am new to this site and only found this website yesterday. Think it is amazing.

I am getting married a DLR on 7 October 2013, having read this website I am now worried.

I was under the impression I picked everything when we get there. Have had a few good ideas from this website.

I would like to get married in the garden gazebo and have my reception on the beach, there is no reception included in our wedding package which we booked through a travel agents. Does anybody have any idea of how much extra it costs to have the reception on the beach.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Natalie

I'm not sure but I know you can have a beach bonfire - I think pretty much anything you want you can ask for and the WC's will quote you :) 7 months to go for me! Anyone out there beginning of April too?? x
Yes I plan on having bonfire as rehearsal dinner! Are you having bonfire too? How much did they quote you for that? I haven't got assigned a WC..wedding is not till end of Aug 2014 so I'm not freaking out just yet lol

I really wanted fireworks for the reception too but after much research and based on what people say...it's not worth it. I think it is average $400 for 60-90 seconds. Always worth to check with your WC though! :)

How many rooms are you reserving? I am booking 40 and hope that it would be more than enough.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
