Thankyou Anudrm,i'm going to contact DLR direct to find out all the information,i've been checking through all my wedding pack & info and even in the brochure it says 5 working days in resort, to be honest i think it must be Thomas Cook that state that for some reason sad.gif  We actually thought we had covered everything but now we're starting to get angry at the little info that we've been given!! I'm soooooo glad i joined on here msnwink.gif will let you know the outcome of my phonecall

Hi ladies!!!  Haven't been on in awhile....congrats to the new Mrs.!!!

Going to try to be better about sharing my progress with you girls....I've kindof been at a stand-still but got a few things accomplished recently.

-Received confirmation email a couple months ago from Yanna for 12-8-12 4pm ceremony at white gazebo.

-Pd. deposit and received confimation from HDC photography for wedding photos and videography.  Also booked "crazy" trash the dress session for day or two after wedding.  Thats the one were they provide transportation to take you off the resort to a beautiful location to do a photo shoot.  Very exciting!!

-all the important ppl that we really want to go are going and working on getting their passports

-chose a "theme" and colors....navy blue with green orchid & peacock feather accents, love how it relates to the peacocks found in the resort

-started wedding "diet" and exercise routine looking forward to dress shopping probably in the spring :)

Will stay in touch!  How is everyone else doing with planning??

Happy New Year everyone and welcome Missmini! Brendee: no i'm not nervous at all! If anything i'm just anxious about the diet - i've about another 9lb to go and not enough time! But i'm not nervous about the resort or how they'll handle the wedding - If i've learned anything from this forum it's that there is no need to worry! I just cant wait to get out there! 44 days and counting! Missmini - That is not a resort rule, it's a thomas cook rule. We're travelling with Thomson and they tried that with me too - they also have a rule that you have to go for two weeks which I didnt want because we are going somewhere else on honeymoon, so I booked the group holiday with Thomson and organised the wedding directly with the resort myself! As far as Thomson are aware its just a group booking, not a wedding, so they have nothing to do with it and I miss out on an extra 5kilo baggage allowance for me and my fiance but that's all. And I think its worth it to have more control over communication with the resort etc. If possible I would cancel your weddding booking with TC (keeping it as a group booking only if you have guests travelling) and start dealing with the resort directly. They can be slow at responding because they're so busy but at least you know what's being said on both ends if you know what I mean! I hope sabrina comes on and tells us how her wedding went... I cant believe i'm next!!!

Thankyou so much for the info Chanelo, i'm going to travel agents tomorrow after i've contacted DLR & TC weddings team myself, luckily enough we've got to make the final payment in 2 weeks so maybe able to change things around a bit concerning original booking. There's 10 of us in total going out on 12/4/12 (already been cancelled once due to TC not sending flights out from Jan to April,we were going out on the 6/3/12 at first having pre-booked it 10 months before, they then said due to no scheduled flights available I could either change to Thompson at an extra £190pp, re-schedule for the 1st available flight or cancel with a full refund sad.gif we took the second option!!) So i'm now on 13wks & counting undecided.gif..... not had any contact from TC weddings team at all other than the wedding pack sent in the post 2wks after booking it!!! So i'm now on a mission to sort arrangements myself with the help of Kerry at DLR who i contacted via facebook haha, she replied to me within the hour & seems to do a fantastic job over there cheesy.gif I'll Let you know how i get on with TC asap. Well best get ready for the gym now gotta get in the DRESS, 1st alteration apt next week, its all getting too real now!!!!

omg missmini i'd have freaked out if they changed dates on me!!! but at least its more time to prepare and arrange everything! Yes see what you can do about organising it yourself, it'll be better in the long run, especially with how many great tips you pick up on this forum. I have to say, I havent gone near the wedding coordinator's in Dreams because i've got all the answers to my questions right here! So I havent had to bother them at all. Let us know who you get on!

soccer1615 - I have just this week discovered the Scarsdale Diet. after 6 months of gym and healthy eating (and 21 lb of weightloss) I have lost 4lb this week alone on scarsdale! It's definitely not something I would like to do longterm but if you're getting desperate closer to the date I would recommend it for quick weight loss.

On a seperate note ladies my real touch bouquet and bridal party flowers just arrived and I couldnt be happier with them! You would NEVER know they were not real... if anyone is considering a real touch bouquet I highly recommend bloombridal in toronto canada - Judy is a dream to work with and I was a bit of a nightmare changing my mind on her 3 times and she was still so patient! She shipped the bouquet to Ireland for me and it arrived in perfect condition pinkie.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
