Thank you so much for some feedback. I am thinking of also going the same way as you and was feeling very nervous about it. We have 24 confirmed guests and the most would be 30. It is a little larger then I had originally expected. We are going to go with adding the reception and cocktail hour. Thanks alot!

Congrats on choosing your wedding at DLR! I can give you my opinion on your questions. There is no charge for the white chair covers, sashes or table linens. The sash colors they have for free are fuchsia, green, orange, red or turquoise. Jenny also told me any other color is available for $3 each. Comparing the wedding guide last year to the new one this year, they increased the price of the dance floor and have 3 specific sizes available. Since it isn't listed under any of the wedding packages I would assume none of them include it for free. We decided to choose a beach reception and are not planning on getting the dance floor, so hopefully it will be fine to dance on the sand! I also asked Jenny about the reception locations and prices because I was seeing a lot of conflicting information. The free reception areas are beach, garden and ballroom. Any restaurant is $500 and the Seaside Grill deck is $300. I'm not sure what you are including to reach your total price. For me, I separated each included item for each wedding package and then compared to the "free" (when you meet the room requirements) wedding package with adding in the items we wanted. We decided a lot of the things included were things we didn't want anyway so we are choosing the free wedding package and adding what we do want. Although this package includes no dinner, you can add that on separately by the per person price.

I hope this helps!

Hi Marji,

How many people are attending your wedding? We are also going to go the same way as you have. Thank you very much for the feedback. It gives me a little peace of mind knowing I am not the only one going this direction.

I'm assuming you brought the aisle runner along, and had to pay extra for the flower decorations on the gazebo?

Congratulations again!

Thank you! Best tip I can give you is don't stress!

One of the most annoying things during this whole process was that I never fully knew how much I was actually going to spend!  It wasn't until we were in front of Yanna that we were able to lock the numbers down...and it wasn't so bad, especially for 60 people!  Yup you have to pay additional for the gazebo decorations (i think $300) and they had the aisle runner.  By the way, the company that the hotel uses for the decor/flowers is amazing! he totally gets your vision when he meets with you and the WC. It's all going to be amazing! I'm so excited for you. I want to do it again, so i'll live vicariously through you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
