Centrepiece looks great Dana, the colours are lovely together!! Sorry to hear about your mother, but yes the ssg patio does look beautiful, and the air con will be lovely inside I bet lol, am struggling to make up my mind, but my fiancé has now decided he wants fireworks as well as the bonfire so it's looking more likely to be the beach. Had an e-mail back from HDC yday, am really tempted by their packages, as gems pics were amazing and I guess it's worth spending a touch more on something that will last a lifetime ey!! Thanks for the e-mail re: hdc

My mom is doing fine and better all the time! At least we still have her around :)

I took the free package, so when i was comparing dollar to dollar, you get much more with HDC than you do with the resort photographer. And my Fiancee is terribly snooty with photography (he's a amateur himself) so it was a better choice then when he saw the comparison. He even contacted Arnaud by phone and talked to him to feel confortable.

Thanks about the centerpieces, i'm getting "you have to have centerpieces you can bring home" from my family. We usually have some little game and whoever wins at the table get it.  The only problem really will be the vases... i may ship them ahad of time, or just stuff underwear and stuff so i have room in my luggage.

Gosh, just the thought of everything that I have to bring lol... all my "great little ideas"... i'm going to need another luggage.  The Fiancee wanted water guns in our welcome bags for the men, so i found some yesterday at Maxi 2 for .94 cents.   Its going to be interesting lets just say.

ALSO, i've been wracking my brain for centerpieces that I could bring with me. I put this one together (i'd have to bring it down in pieces) We plan to get submersible lights to light up the bottom in the water.

But comments please .. IMG_0565.jpg

Hi Dana,

Congrats on the dress. I too had some luck last week with my dress. My dress was a store sample, and needs to be majorly altered since I am very petite. I went to the seamstress on Friday and she quoted me half of what I thought it would cost for the alterations. Score!

I have the same vases as you, except I am going to be using them for table numbers. I have the same idea, to carry them with me but to stuff them with clothes before I bubble wrap them. When we first started planning I considered sending packages ahead of time, but between the cost and my worries about the shipment getting delayed or worse stuck in customs I nixed that idea. It will be cheaper and less stress full to pay for an extra suite case or 2.

Your centerpieces are very pretty. If I may give a suggestion; If you are going to light them from underneath you should try to add something else in the vase that is metallic or has something glittery. This way when the light is shining up it will hit the sparkly object and give a pretty effect. I have been putting off a trip to the craft store so I don't know what they have in terms of sparkly flowers. But I'm thinking that if you added some glass pebbles right under the seashells the light bouncing off of the glass pebble would be so pretty. Check out the website save-on-crafts.com they have a lot of interesting things.

Actually, i added turquoise diamond confetti to the bottom, Took out the shells as suggested and put it around. Found these tealights that are the perfect color at the dollar store of all places. My FI, constructed a lighted base for the vases.. it turns out so pretty :) I will post another pic when i have the time, but thank you all for the advice. REALLY, i needed someone to tell me what was wrong with it. I'm going to have to ship this stuff ahead of time for sure at this rate.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
