Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Hi Mrs Williams,

I'm going to have hubby come and look at a Bose system than, maybe he will change his mind. I think you are correct about tipping and generally being nice to the staff at a resort, staff are more likely to be accommodating than.

We are going to just leave our plans as they are right now, and figure out the music situation when we get there, will just be sure to come prepared.

Good morning girls,

Last night we were at a friends birthday party and by girlfriends husband asked how the planning was going. I have been very frustrated this week, and began to tell him all the changes the resort has made... He reminded me that all the little things really didn't matter, as long as there was food to eat, and drinks to get tipsy, and music to be played, as long as everyone was together we will have fun.

The reason I am posting this this morning is to remind myself and all of you girls on the forum that the reason I chose to do a DW was to have all of our friends and family take this amazing journey with us. I didn't want the traditional wedding for many reason, one important one being that I would only have such a limited amount of time with everyone. What happened is exactly what I had hoped, only our absolute closest family and friends are coming to our wedding, the people who I want to spend more time with in my life. The people who don't care about my wedding colors, or the fabric of the chair sashes, or even the color of my dress. Off course I want are wedding to be special and beautiful, but what is going to make it special is all the people who have taken the time to make it there and join us on the trip.

I guess I just wanted to post this because I know how stressed out we can all get, because planning a DW isn't easy. But when it gets to feel like to much I need to remind myself why we made this choice in the first place. As long as I remind myself that the best and closest people will be there with us celebrating, no matter what happens it will be great.

The only thing that is getting me excited right now is how excited everyone else is, and that is really special.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Good luck with everything you are working on this week.

Uninspired.....

quick question as we are both having the ultimate package - do you have any info on the photographers available?? I e-mailed Yanna about them, asking how many photographers we could choose from and if she could send some samples of their work and when we could make arrangements with them...the reply I got was: "they are a few photographers, but they do very good job" - i thought it might be a safer bet to ask for advice on here!!

Thank You!!!

p.s your last post was great...reminded me of the important things to remember...I am much less stressed now cheesy.gif

i am having the same problem.. all i want is a family friendly reasonable beach resort. I thought dreams romana was perfect but im not sure i can bare the heat in the dominican in july. I was thinking about Grand palladium in Jamaica but i head the beaches are rocky and man made.. ugh..Planning should be fun not headache provoking lol :)

If you are stressed about picking a resort, I'd recommend picking a travel agent first, and then work with them to choose a resort. I did all the research myself and then chose DLR before getting a TA, only to have them tell me that's 80% of what they do. A destination wedding TA will do the footwork for you so all you have to do is make the final decision.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
