Good news (I think)

Tiara said she'll allow me bring in my own system for free and not use the P.A.

I figure I can get good outdoor speakers for the price of what she would want me to pay a dj and I can keep them.

She said she's not supposed to do that but she'll make an exception so if you ladies are looking for the same thing ... tread lightly.

So, I guess I'm booking the whole SSG for dinner and dancing! Yay!

Sunandsand - Way to go! I see you figured out the combination to getting a straight response from Tiara! Number the questions and just allow her to answer in the space following!!

I'm thrilled that you've decided to go with the SSG as well. I think that the atmosphere is going to be just gorgeous and with the dancing outside you can really party and not worry about a hall getting all stuffy 'cause you'll be outside! I'm not sure how the setup inside the restaurant will go (that's really why I'm headed down there) I want to make sure that it's still fairly cozy and that a few speeches can still be made.

Dolfinluck - thanks for the idea, a sunset tour sounds beautiful...I'll have to cost it out though, since I find my budget is beginning to run a bit tight!!

Thanks ladies...you're all awesome!

Seems like alot of planning has happened since I logged on last.
My biggest concern is with the dance/music part of the reception. I would like to use my ipod too. Hopefully, Tiara will allow all of us to bring our own speakers. I am going to send her an email now and see if I get lucky.

Wish me luck.
I believe you should be able to bring your own speakers if you are doing a private reception. If we decided to do a private reception by the pool we are bring down our bose portable speakers but we will have a smaller group. I dont know how well they will for a larger group. But others from the forum have used it and said it was loud enough.

That's actually something that Dolfinluck and I had been contemplating as well! I think it's a great idea.

We had looked at the organza chair sashes/runners on this site:
8x108 Organza Sash - Fuchsia50509(10pcs/pk) (those are just the fuscia ones, I would like a mix of orange and fuscia) Their prices seems pretty good, but if you have any other sites/suggestions that'd be great!

I like your other ideas as well! I would definitely like to work together to share some decor!

If you could email me some of your pics that'd be great!

Ladies:

I'm not sure if you have thought about doing this but I remembered that you (Dolfinluck, Amy, Bridget) were all using fuscia and orange for your wedding colours. I found these cute fans online...they come in a really nice fuscia, you can put your program on them and maybe add an orange ribbon instead of a wooden handle. Just a thought!

and Amy because you're such a DIYer try this site too!!

Hey Maybride, It looks like Tiara's letting me bring my own speakers too. I'm going to start looking into the best ones for this. Good to know that Bose will do the job. I'm going to start pricing them.

Also, I asked Tiara about the price of white table cloths and napkins and they are included so the only things I'm thinking of bringing are some chair sashes and possibly centerpieces.

I don't want to pay $70 per table for flowers so I'm going to take some branches and non-breakable vases and probably buy a few flowers from Tiara to add to the centerpieces.

BTW, that's not me in the photo.... just found it on another website.

When we bought our luggage not to long ago we also picked-up a couple of these nautica duffles that fold into them self when empty, if you click on the "click to enlarge photo" they have a picture of it folded down.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
