Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

I didn't put that much thought into the time. I just kind of picked 4 or 5ish and I didn't even remember which time I put in at the last minute, I was more worried about getting the date. I picked earliest 4 just so it wouldn't be at the hottest time of the day. One of my very best friends is a photographer and is coming to my wedding as a guest/photographer so will be great as far as pictures go. I am not worried about running out of time. This is both our 2nd weddings so we are going much more casual. I think I will even do my own hair. Bring my straight iron and have a friend help. Once I step out into the humid air and it will go all fuzzy anyway.

I don't plan on wasting good beach time doing wedding planning. I will hopefully have most of the plans together before I go and just be able to have a quick meeting with Tiara to stamp out the final plan and back to the beach!!!

Sounds good.... doesn't it? ..... hope it works that way.

Amy, would you be able to send me the email address for the Spa? I would like to contact them as well about booking appointments.

That is amazing!! Hopefully you haven't left yet. I'm getting married on 3/15/10.
Could you please take pictures of the Seaside Grill Deck and get a rough estimate of the size? Also, could you pay attention to whether the SSG Deck is big enough to accomodate a dance floor and the tables for the reception (about 40 people)? Finally, my fiance and I have officially booked the Gazebo for our ceremony but some old pics show people getting married at a hut that is pretty close to the gazebo (i think it's now used for massages.) Could take a pic or 2 of this hut?
Anything you can do is greatly appreciated!!

Hi ladies.

I haven't been on the forum for awhile. I was in dress-shopping heaven/hell, but I finally found my dress!!!!! Vera Wang - on sale at Saks in NYC for 70% off (plus an additional 10% off for getting a Saks card).

Now I can get back to concentrating on this.

Tiara sent me my confirmation today!

My new question to her today (since you can only ask 1 at a time) is - since we want to use the seaside grill for the reception, if we can just go down to the beach and get a dancefloor for a few hours for dancing. Maybe they can keep the chairs from the reception there and we can just go back down to the beach. That would be perfect... and hopefully not too expensive.

Let's see what she says!

Glad to be back. I feel like I missed soooo much

Liane & Sunandsand, congratulations on finally getting things confirmed; we all know how frustrating that can be!

This forum is a huge help to me as well but I made the decision today to do a site visit! So I booked the trip this afternoon for January 16-23, 2010 and I informed Tiara that I will be coming to SPECIFICALLY have my questions answered, view the premesis & get a feel for the area in general. I already have about 20 questions on a spreadsheet so if there's anything that is still needing to be answered by January I will try and get an answer for everyone!

Cheers,

Nadia

Hey Nadia,

If you can find out whether or not you can pay for a dance floor and ipod hook up on the beach for after dinner, that would be great.

I'm going to try to have dinner at the Seaside Grill but since they don't accomodate music there, I'd like to have a couple of hours of dancing on the beach if it's possible.

We could keep the chairs there from the ceremony maybe.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
