I just got word from Tiara. She said sashes were free! We just choose our chairs though. Plastic or Tiffany style. She also said I won't need to show anything for the honeymoon package included in the Ultimate wedding pkg. My future in-laws also love their crabs/lobsters so I asked about that for the gold menu and she said it was additional costs. I wonder how much.

It's funny communicating with the WC. If you ask too many questions, you get selective answers, but if you don't ask enough, I feel like you get yes/no answers! lol.
Thanks for the info!!!
That's great about the sashes being free, but i wonder if the sashes are free as well for the love package as i see you are doing the ultimate package.

I have looked at the info on the websites but it only gives minimal info.
I am planning a site trip to DR this October/November just to check things out and will post any comments I have.

Thanks so much!
Hi akkelly,
Send me your email address and I'll send you the extras list the WC at DLR sent me :)
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I also have a price comparison we put together that shows the price difference between the basic packages at DPC and DLR - where DLR seems to be more expensive and you actually get less for your money... Tiara's response was that they are a 'more luxurious' hotel than DPC... I've never been to either, so I have no idea if that's true.

Hello,

I have been following this thread for about a week. Your comments have been very helpful, and thanks Amy for posting the pictures. I am planning to be married on May 5, 2010 at the DLR; although I haven't finalized the date yet with the WC.

I have been doing a lot of research about this resort, although I haven't been able to find any pictures of the location for the beach ceremony area. If any one has any, it would be greatly appreciated!

Throughout my research, I came across these pictures. Maybe some of you will find them helpful.

Also, I have not been able to find the resorts photographer's portfolio anywhere. Does anyone have any of their sample pics?

Thanks again and happy planning to everyone!

Hello, thank you for the memebers who posted the wedding location pictures! My wedding date is Feb. 14 and I've asked Tiara to send me some location pictures to see but she hasn't get back to me yet.

I'm currently researching for a good and affordable wedding photographer other than the resort photographer. It would be nice if you can share any info. Thanks!

Hey girls,

I'm getting a bit frustrated dealing with the resort already. As I mentioned in an earlier post, they were having issues with my deposit even though everything was already authorized by me through my bank. Tiara was not prompt in getting back to me about date availability and confirmation (I understand I'm not priority since I'm booking for 2010). I finally get confirmation on the wedding package, date and time and now I get an email from her 2 weeks AFTER this, indicating that b/c we are arriving at the resort on a Saturday and reserved our wedding date for a Monday that it was not following the 3 business day in the country requirement. We are only have a renewal of vows ceremony and will already be legally married!

Did anyone know of this requirement for the DR? Why didn't I come across this in any of my research and why didn't she tell me before we confirmed everything? I gave her the dates of when our group would be there before. I'm not totally p'd but annoyed and a little frustrated. Not only did she not say anything about this before but even after getting my confirmation, 2 weeks have past. I have sent emails to her to ask about other things, didn't get any response and then today I get this email about not being able to have our wedding on the date we already reserved! The other thing that irritates me is that she asked me to make a decision quickly before she books the only day available that week to another couple! We have already booked our group travels too!

Am I over-reacting? I sure hope things are better once the date nears and we get to the resort. Good thing I was putting off invitations until September!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
